Nick Bosa hoping 49ers can make Aaron Rodgers uncomfortable

Nick Bosa faced Aaron Rodgers twice during his rookie season in 2019. In those two games, San Francisco sacked Rodgers a combined eight times with Bosa picking up a pair of the sacks himself in a pair of blowout victories, which included a 37-20 win in the NFC Championship.

With Rodgers and the Packers coming up again this weekend, Bosa is hoping the 49ers can recapture the level of play that helped keep Green Bay’s offense in check two years ago.

We just want to get off to a good start and have him feel the pressure overall,” Bosa said, via Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area. “In 2019 obviously, we made him uncomfortable. If he’s comfortable, it’s going to be a long day for anybody.

“So we’re just trying to close the pocket on him and make him get off his normal routine, drop and then once you start taking him down you just want to make him pick himself up as many times as you can.”

The 49ers sacked Rodgers five times in a 37-8 regular season romp before getting him down three more times in the playoffs. Finding a way to pressure Rodgers was one of the keys to keeping him in check two years ago. While the members of the 49ers defense have changed somewhat since then, Bosa is back from his torn ACL last year and already has three sacks in two games.

  1. There is very little doubt SF will destroy the Packers once again this Sunday.the Packers defense is showing another great reason just why Rodgers wanted out of Green Bay so badly, they are attrocious if not non existant.why Matt Lefleur would ever desire and hire an incompetant defense guy like Joe Barry as his DC is beyond even the most hardcore Packers fans comprehension.Jordan Love will get plenty of mop up time once again this week.

In Rodgers’ present mindset, it shouldn’t take much to make the delicate diva feel uncomfortable.

Just the fact that you made comments about him and the 2019 debacle makes Aaron uncomfortable.

  3. These are my favorite games as a 49er fan. I loved being worried going against a great QB, RB and WR. You can’t double team the WR (Adams) because you need the men to stop the run. My 49ers need to score 28 plus points this week. I would bet the over of 50.5 points.

The Packers are only averaging 19 points per game, just saying…

Is your defense as good or better than the Saints? If it is, a single TD might just be enough.

  5. Niners didn’t exactly steamroll either the Lions or Eagles. They are rightly favored, but I don’t think it’ll be lopsided.

  6. If Elgton Jenkins doesn’t play this is going to be very ugly. Even if Rodgers stays upright the DEF is going to give up 250+ yds on the ground. If SF doesn’t win by 20+ I’ll be surprised. And I’m a GB fan.

  7. Game of the week in the NFL

Niners at home which is worth 3 pts for the line. Niners favored by only 3.5.

This is going to pull big ratings for NBC. These Super Bowl contender matchups are must see TV.

  8. Explain to Rodgers that nobody cares about his Halloween costume. That will make him uncomfortable Fo’Sho
