Cornerback Antonio Hamilton has been called up to the Cardinals’ active roster from the practice squad for each of their first three games and the team is moving to keep him around on a more permanent basis.

Hamilton’s agent Drew Rosenhaus announced that the Cardinals are signing Hamilton to their 53-man roster.

Hamilton has played 34 defensive snaps and 51 special teams snaps over the first three weeks of the season. He has six tackles, a pass defensed, and he recovered a punt muffed by Rondale Moore after an official’s penalty flag hit it on the way down in last Sunday’s game.

Robert Alford, Byron Murphy, Luq Barcoo, Marco Wilson, and Tay Gowan are the other corners on the active roster in Arizona.

  1. Arizona’s starting CB’s are absolute studs especially with that pass rush up front. CB Byron Murphy has developed into a top 10 caliber corner and has shut down some of the best receivers in the league already this year. Murphy is breaking out in a big way he’ll be in the Pro Bowl this year. Robert Alford now healthy is an excellent well above average high quality #2 corner and AZ landed one of the steals of this years draft class in 6ft/190pd CB Marco Wilson. Wilson possessing elite athleticism posted the 2nd highest Relative-Athletic-Score EVER of 9.99, 2nd highest score of over 1700+ corners tested since 1987.Wilson ran a 4.34 40, 42.5in verticaljump, 6.79 3 cone drill, he has the hips/speed/stop-start quickness of a young Patrick Peterson. Wilson was set to go a few rounds higher in the draft until he threw that shoe against Florida that belonged to one of the other teams players. Marco Wilson has been high impressive though, and he learns very quickly. For a rookie corner he is as good as it gets for a rookie , by this time next year he will be a #1 shutdown corner I think. He has all the talent in the world, great pickup by Keim as you never find corners this gifted in RD4 even if it was the top of RD4. And with AZ having two huge extremely long ILB’s with speed who excel in coverage as well as one of the best young Safety duos whom both excel in coverage and you can see just how hard this defense is to pass on especially with one of the best & deepest pass rushs in the NFL up front.
