The Chiefs went into halftime down 24-13 and now they’ll have some more time to make adjustments.

With severe weather in the area of Arrowhead Stadium, the second half of Sunday Night Football is being delayed until at least 10:30 p.m. ET, 9:30 p.m. local time.

This is the second primetime game in the last week to be delayed by weather. Kickoff of the Raiders-Chargers matchup last Monday night was delayed for about 40 minutes due to lightning in the Los Angeles area.

The Bills have taken full advantage of the Chiefs’ defensive struggles in the first half, averaging 12.0 yards per play to score 24 points. Josh Allen is 7-of-14 passing for 219 with a pair of touchdowns. He also has a running touchdown.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is 13-of-25 passing for 131 yards with a touchdown.

UPDATE 11 p.m. ET: The game is tentatively scheduled to resume at 11:15 p.m. ET, 10:15 p.m. local time in Kansas City.

  1. I remember when football was played even in inclement weather. Last week the Raiders / Chargers game in LA’s new 4 billion roofed stadium was delayed. So here we go again.

  2. Huge advantage for the Chiefs.

If the paper tiger Bills show up again, it will be a disaster.

  3. I’m sure the Chiefs would love this game cancelled before the Bills can punish them further.

  4. It was 1st and 5 became the chiefs had about a 20 yard play, but the WR was flagged for holding. Since it’s a spot foul, and the we was holding was around the 15 yard mark. It was a 10 yard penalty from that spot. They replayed 1st down for 1st and 5. Had the Bills declined the penalty, it would’ve been 1st and 10, but 10 yards further down the field.

  5. Seeing the officiating crew call that holding penalty followed by an epic roughing the passer penalty in a driving rain storm was a moment I’ll always remember. Just a great sports moment I’ll cherish. It’s why I’m still awake and tuning in.

  6. Judging by their performance, I think the officiating crew had a few drinks during the delay.
