Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson wasn’t around for the start of practice open to the media. Now, we know the reason.

The Ravens’ practice report reveals that Jackson was absent with an illness. He did not go on the COVID-19 reserve list Thursday, and he missed a Week 3 practice with an illness but still played. So the concern level for Ravens Nation should remain low for now.

Jackson also missed two Week 4 practices with back soreness and played.

Friday’s media availability and practice report will bring more clarity.

Tackle Alejandro Villanueva (knee), receiver Sammy Watkins (hamstring), tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) and defensive tackle Brandon Williams (rest) also didn’t take part in Thursday’s practice. Stanley and Watkins didn’t practice Wednesday, and Villanueva was limited.

Safeties DeShon Elliott (quad) and Geno Stone (thigh) were limited.

  1. Sick of carrying this Ravens team. No qb is currently asked to do more than Lamar.
Hope is fine Sunday, Lamar v Herbert is my game of weekend.

  2. Illness… in other words his back still hurts from doing that stupid flip into the end zone

  3. Lamar isn’t the person to worry about. It’s 9 or so players on the defense that I’m worried about.

  4. Lamar does realize that long-haul COVID can be devastating to his career, right? It’s strange that he doesn’t contract up and get his money from the Ravens. Or maybe they remain undecided on him long-term as well. Going into cap hell for a QB who hasn’t proven he can win in the playoffs is a tough call.
