Titans running back Derrick Henry could miss the rest of the season with a foot injury.

Although Henry continued playing after hurting his foot on Sunday, there are now concerns that the injury is much more serious than realized and could cost Henry the rest of the season, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Henry is having an MRI today to determine the extent of the injury.

Henry has led the NFL in rushing each of the last two seasons and is leading the league this year in five major statistical categories, with 219 carries, 937 yards, 10 touchdowns, 237 touches and 1,091 yards from scrimmage.

  1. It was very obvious yesterday that he was not 100%. Sorry to hear this, he was on pace to do something special.

The Titans are not a contender without him

  2. Damn, he was all of that team like Lamar Jackson is to Baltimore. Kind of indispensable. Injuries are terrible and there is no joy even watching your rivals go down with it. Get well soon Derrick

  3. He’s a beast but we’re all human. Can’t give him 400+ touches a year and not expect some wear and tear to finally lead to an injury.

  4. He was on pace for 800 carries, what can go wrong? This is what happens when the RB carries an offense instead of your QB.

  5. With their division (NFC South) he can go to IR and be back for the playoffs. Good luck King Henry.

  6. Yikes. I don’t think that there could be a more impactful non-Quarterback injury for any team.

  7. Carrying the ball almost 30 times a game and has a (maybe) a season ending injury after week 8…. who’d a thunk???

  8. Not as big of a deal as it should be, they only need like 1 more win to clinch the division.

  9. This is a Prime example of why running backs never win the MVP. They can never stay healthy. Christian Mcaffery,Dalvin Cook etc. 17 game seasons in the NFL just weren’t meant for one back to try to Carrie the load every week!

  10. Literally every commenter on this site every week before this: “why isn’t derrick henry the unanimous MVP?!?!?!”

  11. Huge bummer. Love watching this guy play. I hope it’s not as bad as feared, but it seems like whenever you hear “foot injury”, it turns out to be Lisfranc.

  12. I’d think David Montgomery could be a trade option depending on his recovery timeline. Bears not going anywhere and Herbert has looked good.

  13. I heard a stat that not only was he leading the league in carries, but he was EIGHT carries ahead of the person in second. That means he was on pace to have 136 more carries for the season than any other back in the NFL.

If the Titans didn’t realize how bad of an idea that was, I don’t know what to tell them.

  14. I’m going to miss the devastating stiff arms he lays on defenders. Such a fun guy to watch. Bummer.

  15. Wow. What a huge loss for all of the fans of the NFL. Henry could have racked up the most years in a single season….. especially with an added game. 2021 would have been remembered as the YEAR OF DERRICK HENRY. We the fans all lose.

  16. Almost 1k carries in 3 years, let’s check on how every other running back has done after those kinds of numbers.

  17. I’m not a Titans fan, but as someone who enjoys watching football, it’s a huge bummer. He seems like a good guy and is fun to watch – easy to root for.

    Get well soon, King Henry.

  18. Hate to see this happen to a great player in his prime. He’s had several memorable games, especially in the playoffs. Though I’m not a Titans fan, I enjoy watching them with Henry. May he recover quickly and smoothly.

  19. Derrick Henry has been on track to be one of the all time greats. Hope he can come back healthy and strong soon.

  20. I read “huge bummer” more times in this comment section than I’ve seen in my entire life combined
