  1. This is devastating. Not even a fan of the Raiders. Rooting for him to pull thru this terrible incident.

  2. Prayers to Ruggs. Hope everyone involved is okay and recovers 100%. And before any of you start, no, its not unusual to be out at 3:40am in Vegas.

  3. I hope the kid is alright and has a speedy recovery. Never want to hear about anyone get seriously injured.

Now…not being mean or taking away from his condition…BUT, I hope he wasn’t doing anything crazy at the time. That early in the morning doesn’t always sound the best, but it doesn’t mean he was in the wrong either.

The Raiders are definitely going to feel this one. Maybe the should call the Browns about OBJ…although Carr spreads the ball probably a little too much for OBJ’s liking.

  4. During the season, he has no reason to be out at that time. This sucks. Not as a fan of the Raiders but as a person, hopefully all involved have a speedy recovery.

  6. Not unusual to be out at 3:40am in vedas if you are a tourist or a night life enthusiast. Don’t care where, not much good happens at those hours.

As a Raiders fan and someone who lived in Vegas for 5yrs…eh, usually no good happens at 3:40am. Let’s be 100% honest. I’m not saying the kid was doing anything wrong, cuz we have no clue…but everyone I knew when I was there was usually drunk, racing, or into some other shenanigans that early in the morning. I was his age when I lived there.

Let’s just hope this kid is alright and can still function properly.

  8. TMZ updated and said that a source said Ruggs is OK. Looking at the picture of those cars I don’t know how that’s possible.

  9. Stop with the 3:40 a.m. They’re on a bye and play the giants next week so it’s 2 byes.

  10. The point is not that he was out at 3:40 am. The point is that a young man is fighting for his life. That is all that matters. Prayers for Henry.

  11. Many posters are offering prayers for Ruggs and anyone else involved. That’s fine and good. But whenever there’s a tragedy that’s viewed through the prism of a supposed all-knowing, all-powerful God, I think of observations that philosopher Epititus made in 300 B.C.:

    1. If God is willing to prevent a tragedy, but is not able, he is not omnipotent.
    2. If he is able to prevent a tragedy, but is not willing, then he is malevolent.
    3. If he is both willing and able, then why do we have tragedies?
    4. If he is neither willing nor able to prevent tragedies, then why call him god?

  12. I don’t think the time itself is an issue, the issue is that most people aren’t sober at that hour. If he took a life while drunk driving I’ve got no sympathy. If it wasn’t his fault then apologies and best wishes.

  13. TMZ has Ruggs’ attorney requesting “everyone to reserve judgment until all the facts are gathered.”

Which is probably not a good sign for Henry.

  14. Yikes TMZ has more details. Riggs was driving will be charged with DUI. Ruffs was impaired and the driver of the car he hit died. Awful beyond words. There are way too many ride share apps for idiots to still be hurting others like this.

  15. Just read a report from LVMPD stating he will face a charge of driving under the influence resulting in death. He’s done.

  16. TMZ is reporting that he caused the accident resulting in the death of another person and is being charged.

  17. Albert Breer reported there was another vehicle involved in the accident and the driver of that vehicle was killed in the accident. Ruggs was also allegedly drunk while driving.

  18. Why is everyone rooting for Ruggs? He was drunk as hell and hit someone and killed them. His career is over and he will be in jail for years.

  19. He was driving his Corvette and hit a Rav 4. Caused a serious CARBQ and resulted in a death of someone in the Rav 4. He was also under the influence. LVPD already charging him with driving under the influence and vehicular death. He’s done.

    Umm, no?

I just wouldn’t want any player our partying on a Monday night during the season when you have to at the facility in a few hours to get treatment and watch film, you know, to be committed to your team?

  21. Ruggs was transported to a local hospital for treatment on non-life-threatening injuries.
Cops tell us the NFL star showed “signs of impairment” at the scene … and they will be charging him with DUI resulting in death.

Live to enjoy the memory. Don’t Drink and Drive.

  22. TMZ reporting the Ruggs will be charged with DUI resulting in death. Ruggs is OK and expected to recover. His career? Not so much.

  23. DUI and Killed someone, its a tragic all around. As an insurance agent I tell people about drinking and driving. I have clients who has DUI. A person lost their life, a person lost their career. Its not good any way you look at it

    You were saying?

  25. Drinking and driving is not a “Mistake” or “Accident”, it is a decision. Reports state Ruggs will be charged with DUI.And like happens many time when someone drinks and drives, they walk away fine and someone else is killed or injured.

Never a good headline. I hope he is okay and able to step onto a football field again.

    =======================================

I retract my previous statement. He doesn’t deserve to step on a football field ever again. This kind of tragedy is completely avoidable. He will have to spend the rest of his life knowing he took a life and, luckily for him, he probably won’t even remember it.

Umm, he caused the accident. How about praying for the victims’ families?

Do you know how easy it is to get a cab or Uber in Vegas?

No, not unusual to be out at 3:40 AM.

It is unusual and irresponsible to be out at 3:40 AM driving while hammered.

  30. An additional tragedy is Ruggs will likely not have much in the way of true remorse other than for his loss of freedom and career. Just how the privileged seem to roll. And will plead not guilty.

  31. I’ll pray for the victim(s) & Ruggs, both. The victim(s), family & friends have my utmost sympathy. I’m confident Ruggs will pay the appropriate penalties in public opinion, the court system & his employment. What a shame.

What a cringe take. Especially in the wake of someone being murdered by an entitled, drunk multimillionaire.

  33. Southpaw I get the anger but at 1:50pm, before the whole story was out or I had seen it I was hoping he was going to be able to play Sunday.

    No one knew any facts.

  34. Being out at 3:40am, driving drunk, speeding, killing some innocent victim…….yeah, I got a big problem with that.
