Tua Tagovailoa questionable for Sunday’s game

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa injured a finger on his throwing hand Sunday against the Bills. He played every snap, and the Dolphins never announced an injury in-game.

But Tagovailoa was limited in practice all week and has a questionable designation.

“He banged it in the [Buffalo] game and obviously he was able to finish the game,” Dolphins coach Brian Flores said, via Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel. “There is some swelling. He’s a little sore. We’re just going to monitor it over the next couple of days.

“It’s on the throwing hand so there is some discomfort. It’s affecting him a little bit. He’s a tough kid. He’s worked through some discomfort before.”

Tagovailoa fractured his ribs earlier this season, keeping him out three games.

The second-year quarterback missed one game last season with a thumb injury on his throwing hand but finished out the season by playing through the injury.

The Dolphins backup quarterback is Jacoby Brissett, who completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 993 yards and threw for four touchdowns and two interceptions as Tagovailoa’s replacement earlier this season.

Linebacker Jerome Baker (knee) also is questionable.

  1. Pretzel – never heard of that Bandaid – more or less. Big mistake – it is going to be neat to see what Love can do in his first start. Now AR didnt start until year 3 but he had 3 years of preseason games. Now Love has had 1 season of preseason games. So all of these people who are making the Love AR comparisons are writing for the sake of writing – and given how many rookie QB’s have played well as backups – maybe that is justified but many who were drafted and put into the starters role are not.

  2. Ok People; the dolphins need to sign Odell Beckem and try to run the table. If Miami can run the table they can possibly get the last wildcard spot at 10-7. This should be the goal of Grier and Flores. (IT CAN BE DONE!) I am willing to help.

  3. Please sign another QB. Colin Kaepernick is available. I wish that 3rd string QB had gotten an opportunity to play with the first string.

  4. Let’s just blame Tua for the worst offensive line in football, no running game at all, and the worst defense in the league and my god have you seen how bad the coaching is….all facts look it up…

  5. The funny thing is that Jacoby Briscuit could unsurprisingly beat the Texans; but, an injured or healthy Tua is questionable to get the W at best. I think this statement sums up why Tua isn’t going to be the man in Miami, regardless of what people think.
