The Steelers may be missing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick next Sunday night due to COVID-19 protocols and the Chargers may be without a pair of defensive linemen.

Defensive end Joey Bosa and defensive tackle Jerry Tillery have been placed on the COVID-19 reserve list. Vaccinated players who tested positive can return in under 10 days if they’re asymptomatic and receive two negative tests 24 hours apart. Unvaccinated players are out 10 days for testing positive and five days if they were close contacts to someone who did.

Bosa has 28 tackles, 5.5 sacks and three forced fumbles this season. Tillery has 30 tackles and 2.5 sacks while playing 81 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.

Linebacker Drue Tranquill is the only other Chargers player currently on the COVID-19 reserve list.

  1. Why are more players getting covid this year then last year when the safe and effective vaccine was not out?

  2. Weird they test positive don’t play but come back the following week to play and nobody finds it strange?

Players don’t have nearly the restrictions they had last year, and teams aren’t strictly enforcing the ones that are still around (*cough* Green Bay *cough*)

The vaccine’s biggest effect is generally keeping Covid symptoms mild to moderate.

Because they’ve stopped following protocols and spending time around other unvaxxed morons.

    Get it?

  5. It won’t be long before we have a game with half of the starters out and the entire practice squad called up for one or both teams (I know they can only elevate two). You think the Det-Pit game was bad. Imagine that game without the excuse of bad weather.

  6. Isn’t that swell?

Now an unvaxxed Cousins will likely be out for Green Bay.

The Kellen Mond era starts Sunday.

Longlivedansnyder. Try reading the news once in awhile. It’s called the Delta variant.

If they contracted the Delta variant which isn’t stopped by the vaccine, then why are they out less time and have fewer protocols to go through. If the vaccine is ineffective vs the Delta variant, they should have the same protocols as the unvaccinated.

  8. The COVID vaccines do offer protection against the Delta variant, unfortunately the Delta variant spreads more easily and quicker than other variants.
Due to all the unvaccinated , there is eventually going to be a variant that the vaccines will not offer protection against, that’s why it’s so important for the unvaccinated to get vaccinated to prevent this!
    Stop the pandemic get vaccinated!!

  9. Bosa….another Covidiot that refused to get vaccinated and now will hurt his team with his absence.
