PFT’s Week 11 2021 power rankings

1. Titans (8-2, last week No. 3): They’ve nearly perfected the weekly goal of going 1-0.

2. Packers (8-2, No. 5): If the road to the Super Bowl once again goes through Green Bay, it will be very hard to deny the Packers their first Super Bowl berth in 11 years.

3. Cowboys (7-2, No. 6): The fourth seed is a given. The top seed is a possibility.

4. Cardinals (8-2, No. 1): They definitely need Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins.

5. Rams (7-3, No. 4): Matthew Stafford is suddenly playing too much like Matthew Stafford.

6. Buccaneers (6-3, No. 2): They may have to do it the hard way in the playoffs, again.

7. Bills (6-3, No. 8): A home-and-home with Bill Belichick looms.

8. Patriots (6-4, No. 10): With the “good” teams compressed this year, coaching will make a real difference.

9. Ravens (6-3, No. 7): The Ravens will keep seeing safety blitzes until they show that they have an answer.

10. Chiefs (6-4, No. 14): The rest of the division had their chance to keep them down, and they failed miserably.

11. Saints (5-4, No. 9): Jameis Winston is not Drew Brees, and Trevor Siemian is not Jameis Winston.

12. Steelers (5-3-1, No. 11): That’s what you get when you don’t have a backup quarterback that can deliver a win on short notice against a bad team.

13. Colts (5-5, No. 17): They’ve got the formula to thrive in the playoffs, if they can get there.

14. Bengals (5-4, No. 16): It wasn’t a bad bye week for a team that entered it with two bad losses.

15. Vikings (4-5, No. 21): The dream of a 9-8 finish, the No. 7 seed, and a quick exit from the postseason survives.

16. Panthers (5-5, No. 22): Forget about teaching Cam Newton the Joe Brady offense. Joe Brady needs to learn the Cam Newton offense.

17. Chargers (5-4, No. 12): At least the fans who cheer for the visiting team are getting their money’s worth.

18. Raiders (5-4, No. 13): If only they had the option to walk away from the table while they were up.

19. Browns (5-5, No. 15): The offense isn’t nearly good enough to compensate for a struggling defense.

20. 49ers (4-5, No. 23): If they could play the Rams more often, they could still win the division.

21. Falcons (4-5, No. 18): With the Patriots coming to town on Thursday night, they don’t have much time to put this one behind them.

22. Seahawks (3-6, No. 19): If they get shut out again, they should start calling it a Seahawk egg.

23. Eagles (4-6, No. 27): Some teams get better, some get worse. The Eagles quietly are getting better.

24. Broncos (5-5, No. 20): Vic Fangio will be a great defensive coordinator hire in the offseason.

25. Dolphins (3-7, No. 30): They’re set up to go on a run.

26. Washington (3-6, No. 29): If Ron Rivera can will this team to the postseason, he’ll deserve a third coach of the year trophy.

27. Giants (3-6, No. 24): Beat the Bucs, and the vibe around this team instantly changes.

28. Bears (3-6, No. 25): At least we get to watch Justin Fields on Thanksgiving.

29. Jaguars (2-7, No. 26): Wait ’til next year will be the mantra for this year and next year. And maybe the next year.

30. Lions (0-8-1, No. 32): It’s been a no-lose November for the Lions, thanks to a bye and a tie.

31. Jets (2-7, No. 28): Rex Ryan vs. Robert Saleh would be more fun to watch than any Jets game since Rex was the coach.

32. Texans (1-8, No. 31): To settle the St. Louis lawsuit against the NFL, Houstonians are willing to let the Texans move there.

  1. Bucs and Rams are ranked based on their record and QB, obviously. Good thing Tampa played Dallas and the Patriots early in the season and the Rams just suck. No one would pick either of these two teams, if they played the Chiefs or Ravens right now.

  2. Matthew Stafford is suddenly playing too much like Matthew Stafford
    ==========

He took the Lions to the Playoffs 3 times.

    The Lions.

Thats like winning 5 Super Bowls.

  3. I don’t understand how the Fail-cons can be two spots ahead of the Eagles, who curb-stomped them in week 1 and have been about as good as them since.

  4. The Bears effectively beat the Steelers, #14, and #18, and are ranked 28? They’d handily beat #’s 23 – 27, as well as the #21 Falcons. The disrespect.

  5. Packers (8-2, No. 5): If the road to the Super Bowl once again goes through Green Bay, it will be very hard to deny the Packers their first Super Bowl berth in 11 years.
    ————————–
Rodgers won’t lead them to a Super Bowl, AGAIN.

  6. We saw it in 05, we saw it 2012, and we will sit it this year:

THE WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM IS POISED TO MAKE A RUN IN TO THE PLAYOFFS!

  7. After how the Patriots started the year, they are definitely shocking a lot of us in NE. It wasn’t just incohesive play, it was bad coaching which is totally uncharacteristic of a Belichick coached team. They seem to have put it together. We are surprised here, not sure how the rest of the league is feeling about it.

  8. Rams are way too high. They have been embarrassed, and embarrassed themselves, the last two weeks.

If Sean McVay can turn those total and utter garbage performances around after the bye, he might also be able to turn water in to wine.

  9. Steelers eke out a tie against the #30 ranked team and move down one spot? Yeah ok…
    __________________________________________________________
Steelers were without there starting qb. Shouldn’t be punished for that.

  10. Not saying the Broncos are good, but you can’t rank the Cowboys 3 and Broncos 24 after a blow out. By that standard, you would have had the Broncos in your top 10 last week.

  11. “The Bears effectively beat the Steelers, #14, and #18, and are ranked 28? They’d handily beat #’s 23 – 27, as well as the #21 Falcons. The disrespect.” Awww come on now,you know the Bears still suck.maybe they will gain a little respect if they were good enough to beat the Packers and the QB who owns them.

  12. I felt that NE would be a good team if they eliminate costly mistakes, penalties and be more aggressive on offense. They look like they trust Mac to make throws and to direct the offense and the defense has been lights out. I’m surprised the Patriots are at #8 because the league is such a mess but I agree with it. I don’t think there is a single team in the league I would say is “great”. So it’s up for anyone this year

  13. Packers show they can win even when Rogers is not at 100%. All those arm-chair GMs around here skulk out of the room.

  14. The Bears did the equivalent of getting fired on your day off this week, dropping three spots during a bye

  15. I disagree with Florio’s take that Mason Rudolph failed to deliver a win for the Steelers. Yes, Rudolph missed a wide open receiver in the end zone during regulation but he also lead the team to the edge of field goal range TWICE in overtime only to have two receivers fumble away the chance at a game winning field goal. It was very much a team failure, not a quarterback failure.

Why not? Every good team has at least one ugly loss this year, mostly two. I think the Broncos proved they suck and the Cowboys are clearly back on the saddle.

  17. 6. Buccaneers (6-3, No. 2): They may have to do it the hard way in the playoffs, again.

That’s ok, Not getting the bye just gives Brady another chance to add to his incredible 34 career playoff win total – more than twice as many wins than second place Montana (16).

  18. Lions at 30 is a joke. Jets would beat them by 20 points on a neutral field if they played tomorrow.

LOL I’m sure you’re giving full credit to the Ravens then for the team they would be if they still had their starting RB, LT, CB, S and the other 13 players they have on IR. See? The Ravens should be #1! (I’m kidding, they shouldn’t even be in the top ten at this point. And yet, still better than the Steelers.)

  20. I find it entertaining that people fixate on an opposing team more than the one they root. I guess I just don’t understand hate and jealousy.

Not a bad ranking but the Steelers really are too high and the loss coming this week should cause a bigger drop next week.

  21. That’s ok, Not getting the bye just gives Brady another chance to add to his incredible 34 career playoff win total – more than twice as many wins than second place Montana (

Brady has probably played twice as long. Did you like his brief whiny presser that he ran out on? Real class as long as he wins…if not he is a poor loser.

  22. It is really difficult to accurately rate teams this year because every single good record team has a mind bogglingly awful loss this year. Its a total crap shoot this year

  23. Packers with one of the top defenses in the league can be scary good. If Jaire Alexander and Zadarious Smith can come back look out.

  24. The real season doesn’t start till Thanksgiving. I’d put my money on teams who have at least 3 game win streaks going into December.

  25. “THE WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM IS POISED TO MAKE A RUN IN TO THE PLAYOFFS!”

Lol maybe in some parallel or alternate universe but not in this one

  27. Browns should be 23. They arent better than the 49ers, Seahawks, Falcons or Eagles

  28. Hey Seahawks, don’t feel too bad… 3 of your 6 losses came to teams in the top 5 of this list. And all losses were in the top 15 and most were within 1 score. Difference between this year and years past is that they were able to win more of those 1 score games in the past. But it’s finally caught up to Pete and hopefully this season will lead to some long overdue big changes within the org.

  29. Cardinals should have been #1 since their Week 4 thrashing of the Rams, or at least the Week 6 thrashing of the Browns, and nothing has changed. Nothing has changed since their Week 1 38-13 thrashing of your #1 Titans, for that matter. It’s just that in Week 1 everyone assumed the Cardinals were simply one of 16 undefeated teams and nothing more.

And Vasteelerfan is the king of fixating on Brady and the Patriots

  31. 15. Vikings (4-5, No. 21): The dream of a 9-8 finish, the No. 7 seed, and a quick exit from the postseason survives.

Either that or (minimum) one win over the Packers in any season is what’s known as a “Vikings Championship”.

  32. My team is getting pretty high in the weekly rankings but my life is not any better, people still laugh at me. I dont get it.

  33. If Green Bay gets back to full power on their defense heading into the playoffs, No one is stopping them from hoisting another Lombardi

  34. Let’s face it, this is a crazy year. Anyone can beat anyone, and probably will continue to do so, even in the playoffs.

My Saints beat the current number 1, 2 and 6 teams…and lost to the current 27, 21 and 16 teams. SMH…

  35. And Vasteelerfan is the king of fixating on Brady and the Patriots

Everything he/she writes has the exact tone as Nofoolnodrool did.

  36. One of my favorite NFL seasons and as long as I can remember. Every single week the pundits have to reset and who they think the “great teams“ are. Every weekend A couple of teams that are supposed to be world beaters, get their butts whipped. It’s beautiful.

  37. Cardinals have lost two games. One was a fluke (If AJ Green just turns around he catches the winning TD) and the second loss was without Kyler, DHop, JJ, Chase, etc.

And we stomped your number 1 team the Titans, embarrassed the Rams, and the 49ers (with our back-ups).

  38. Beat Number 8 on road handily too. But, yes as you corrected, lost to number 1 due to not being about to make PATs (roughing call was just extra BS)

The parity is out of control this year. I think the middle teams on the list can beat #1 and lose to #32.
