Jason Garrett: Tom Brady is the best player who ever walked

Tom Brady has been around for so long and won so many Super Bowls that it’s easy to get hyperbolic about his career.

But there’s plenty of truth in what Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett had to say about the Buccaneers quarterback on Thursday.

With New York and Tampa Bay squaring off on Monday, Garrett was particularly complimentary when discussing Brady in his Thursday press conference.

“They’re going to make a Mt. Rushmore of football players at some point and the first face they chisel will be that guy’s face,” Garrett said, via Tom Rock of Newsday. “He’s the best player who ever walked.”

Garrett was still a player when Brady began his career back in 2000 and didn’t retire until after the 2004 season.

Now Brady is still playing quarterback at a high level and winning Super Bowls even after Garrett’s 10-season stint as Cowboys head coach.

  1. “He’s the best player who ever walked.”
That’s a good way to put it, because we have all seen Tom run.

  2. To the negative people that say they hate Brady why is that? Why do people get mad at someone who has dedicated his life so thoroughly to succeed and then does? If you ever watch any content on him please tell me what he has ever said or done that is not professional. Whether anyone likes it or not Brady is the greatest there has ever been so far. 10 SuperBowl appearances with seven rings.

Aaron Rodgers is the best to ever play the game. Brady is a distant second.

Are people trolling or do they believe this nonsense? Rodgers is very good at throwing a football, but after he retires his name will rarely even come up again. He’s in the Elway, Favre, Marino category. Brady is in a different stratosphere and will be discussed for generations.

  4. Rodgers doesn’t need a stacked roster to win? He sure did against the Seahawks last Sunday…

  5. Best qb in the modern era without a doubt. I’d still list john unitas as the best ever he invented the was way the position is played.

  6. there are and have been many pretenders with big arms and quick feet but Brady became the obvious and undisputed GOAT by having the most guts and leadership in the big moments. that’s when the pretenders choke.

  7. I understand that haters have to hate. If Brady beat my team like a old rug.i wouldn’t be happy about it. But Aaron Rodgers ? He’s not even a nice guy. A stacked roaster Brady made players around him better.other than Randy Moss most of bradys team mates never did much outside of N E.

  8. Brady is the GOAT when it comes to QB, and QB is by far the most important position on the field. But with Brady, there are still some things that are debatable.

Having said that, if I had to pick the best single FOOTBALL PLAYER to ever play, I’d have to go with Jerry Rice. He’s just so far out in front of everyone behind him it’s mind-boggling. NOTHING is debatable when it comes to Rice, the greatest wideout ever, and his status will likely never be challenged. I used to watch him put up 1000-yd seasons at the age of 40, helping take my Raiders back to the SB. Absolutely incredible what that guy did in his career.
