Chase Claypool wants practice to be more fun. Mike Tomlin wants Claypool to mind his own business.

Via Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com, the Steelers coach was asked on Tuesday about the second-year receiver’s suggestion that the Steelers play music at practice and otherwise make the experience “more fun.”

“Claypool plays wideout and I’ll let him do that,” Tomlin said. “I’ll formulate the practice approach, and I think that division of labor is appropriate.”

And that’s that. Consider it a lesson learned for Claypool and for any other current or future Steelers player who has any ideas about how things should happen at practice.

  1. Stay in your lane Claypool. If nothing else, be smart enough to know such things get taken to the boss and not the media

  2. I’m going to ask my boss if we can do that on the next business ZOOM call …….it maybe my last day, but I’ll ask.

  3. This team is just circling the drain. Like a shower turd I promise you the Ravens are just gonna step on them and flush their season. What a glorious day it will be! Cheers!

  4. While the Steelers are careening to the basement isn’t the best time to ask for more fun in practice.

Most teams play music during practice.

    Most teams suck.

  6. Well that didn’t take long. Already becoming an overpaid diva. Just shut up and play, Claypool!

  7. Tomlin doesn’t appear to be the kind of Coach that’s worried if your having “fun” at practice or not

  8. Chase should contact Rocky Blier about this to help him out, he sounds like he’d be on his side. Lol

  9. So he is the newest member of the “Wanna have fun” club with Lane Johnson and Cassius Marsh amongst its most illustrious members…

  10. I mean, I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask, right? But I can’t imagine being an NFL player and telling your coach you want to have “fun” at practice. But these guys are young so it’s not surprising that stuff like this comes up.

  11. Why not enjoy music at the super bowl victory party? That’s Mike Tomlin’s way of having fun.

  12. Second player this week from the Sqeelers to adjust practice…I believe Minkah said something the other day about changing how we practice he tried that —- in Miami & Coach sent him packing!
