A report on Friday morning pegged Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.’s status for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars as up in the air due to a hip injury, but Ramse head coach Sean McVay doesn’t sound overly concerned about Beckham missing the game.

McVay said at his Friday press conference that he will be “surprised” if Beckham is not in the lineup against Jacksonville. Beckham went from limited participation in Wednesday’s practice to sitting out on Thursday, but McVay said early in the week that he did not expect the injury to affect Beckham’s availability.

While McVay expects Beckham to play, the team is going to list him as questionable on their final injury report of the week.

Running back Darrell Henderson (thigh) will be in the same category and wide receiver Ben Skowronek (back) is set to play.

  1. Nor would any Browns / Giants fans be surprised if OBJ missed games….it’s what he does !

  2. Sean McVay will quickly learn he shouldn’t be surprised by anything pertaining to Odell Beckham Jr.

  3. All the teams that were taking heat from their fan bases for not going after him are now seeing that criticism die down pretty quickly.

  4. He must not have kept very good tabs on OBJ’s career. Rough guess about 70% of fans would be greatly surprised if he actually played and the rest, minus Sean, would expect him to suit up, jog for a play or two then sit out the rest of the game.

  5. If he plays – will anyone notice?

Legit question – when did he have a single game box score that was above average much less “take over the game” type of day?

  6. I would sit him and let him heal up. If the Rams can’t beat J-Ville without him then they really suck. Don’t be like Cleveland who trotted out a banged up Baker Mayfield to barely beat the winless Lions. That was really poor judgement.

  7. OBJ will be out there smoking the Jags secondary. He torched the Packers defense last week. Unfortunately his QB is a bum who chokes in big games.
