Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said on Friday that it is realistic for running back Adrian Peterson to play for the team days after being signed to the practice squad and they’ve made a move to add him to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the 49ers.

Peterson was elevated to the active roster on Saturday. He will be available on Sunday and will return to the practice squad after the game.

Peterson had 27 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown in three games for the Titans after Derrick Henry‘s injury. He was released a couple of days before Thanksgiving and signed with the Seahawks on Wednesday.

Alex Collins (abdomen), Travis Homer (calf), and Rashaad Penny (hamstring) are listed as questionable for the Seahawks, which left DeeJay Dallas as the only healthy back on the 53-man roster.

  1. I hate seeing once great players with multiple teams on their resume as the career should have ended.

  2. I know he’s a Future Hall of Famer and all that, but who cares at this point? He’s but a shell of the player he was even 2 or 3 years ago – let alone in his prime.

  3. That’ll fix the problem. Bone headed move a after bone headed move with this organization.

  4. Merry Christmas to Peterson’s son! May the branches and leaves be left on the tree this year.

  5. If all those RBs are doing poorly maybe it is more than their fault. I mean I see random undrafted guys piling up yards. Maybe the line isn’t good

  6. Running backs should be drafted, used 4 years, then get another one. Applaud him for getting NFL money for so long.

  7. One thing to remember Adrian, when everyone was against you the Minnesota Vikings paid you 20 million dollars the year you were suspended and ddn’t play, so tell your dad to get off the Minnesota Vikings back because the Minnesota Vikings don’t owe you a thing.

  8. When the SeaDogs gave Russ all his money, which is to say, the SeaDogs gave Russ’s wife all the money, there wasn’t any money left to PROTECT Russ. So I blame her.

  9. This is what, the fourteenth team he’ll have played for in the past three years? 😂

  10. The Seahawks are one of the worst teams in the league at this point…. Even AP from 2015 could not help them

  11. This is sad as hell. enough already/ Are they gonna sign FrancoHarriss next? i watched that when I was a kid. Sad

  12. Some great players can still contribute when their skills have diminished. With Peterson, if he’s not the dominant back for you that he used to be, he’s fairly worthless. He’s not a receiver nor any good in pass protection.

  13. AP is 98 yards short of 15000. He is also 367 yards short of Barry Sanders for fourth all time in rushing. Only 31 players have eclipsed 10000 career rushing yards. Other than Derrick Henry, I don’t see any RB getting close to 15000 yards. Unfortunately most of the crowd here would rather see DeeJay Dallas carry the load instead of witnessing history. I also must be the only one who loved watching MJ play for the Wizards. I will watch the greats anytime, anywhere, any team for as long as they can play.
