Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said after Sunday’s 20-19 loss to the Steelers that cornerback Marlon Humphrey could be out for a while after getting hurt during the game and it looks like that timeframe will cover the remainder of the season.

Harbaugh did not specify the nature of Humphrey’s injury, but he could be seen holding his right arm tight to his body as he left the field. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Humphrey suffered a shoulder injury and that it is believed to be a season-ending one.

Humphrey started every game this season and had 58 tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble.

The Ravens lost Marcus Peters for the year to a torn ACL in a summer practice and they’ve dealt with a number of other injuries to their cornerbacks this season. Assuming the Humphrey news is confirmed by further tests, Jimmy Smith, Tavon Young, Anthony Averett, Chris Westry, and Robert Jackson on the current roster. Kevon Seymour should also be cleared from the COVID-19 reserve list in the near future.

  1. Another very middling 1st rd pick by Baltimore.

When you can’t develop many players in house that you draft, it’s a problem

Dobbins, Brown, Duvernay, Queen, etc. The WR Proche from SMU. How many more no impact draft picks can this team sustain?

  2. I sense Mr Regular Season Jackson-apologists will be on the loose when they see this story. ” Well, they have so many defensive injuries that Lamar has to carry a heavy load” yada yada yada.

  3. Bummer on Humphries; decent player, but it’s not like he made or broke the team in any way. I was told that Lamar had all the WR and TE weapons he needed this year to bring this team to the promised land. I sure am not seeing it. Every team has injuries. Great teams and great QBs can rise above. Guys like Brady, Brees and Rodgers get it done no matter if their team has 3, 5, or 10 starters on IR.

  4. Lamar is not good. Romo did his best to point it out all game without directly embarrassing him.

  5. In Ravens Nation delusion, they have so many injuries that only a superhuman QB can lead them to the playoffs. So when the Ravens go one-and-done again in the playoffs, even if it’s Lamar’s 12th straight awful game in a row, it will prove how good Lamar was that they even made the playoffs. This guy gets more latitude than any QB I have ever seen given how badly he’s been playing for the past 6 games. Taysom Hill started one game and played terribly. One start, finger injury, didn’t matter… he was destroyed in the media and press coverage for his 4 picks. One game. Lamar’s on his 6th game hurting the Ravens and yet we still hear about how good he is and how he’s not to blame in any way for their terrible offense.

Don’t look but Isaiah Wynn just got penalized again…

  7. Die hard Ravens fan here, and you will never hear me talk about how great Lamar Jackson is, he’s a Jarred Goff, but with great speed and moves. Lamar’s talents and the Ravens seasons are being wasted I believe.

  8. Ravens are simply not as good as their record and the wheels are starting to fall off the cart. Few teams can survive this level of injury to key positions and key backups. in the recent past we’ve seen it happen to the Patriots and 49ers – neither made the playoffs. If we somehow make the playoffs in the messed up AFC it won’t really matter cause we ain’t going anywhere.

You can say Lamar is not good and I can accept that. That’s your opinion. But why not complain about other QBs? Stafford threw picks 6’s three games in a row, a you get a couple negative posts. Josh Allen has had a few clunkers this year and hardly a peep. Cousins can’t come back to win a game to save his life, but all you hear is Lamar criticism since day one, win or lose. Even this topic was about an injury, but somehow negative Lamar got brought up. Lamar brought his team all the way back again, but fell a little short. But not one positive thing said on these boards. I’ve never said Lamar is a great QB, he has limitations, but he fits the Ravens style and team and I would not take any other QB for the Ravens, period.

Every team is as good as their record because that is their record. We could be 9-2 or 4-7, but that’s they entire NFL. Most games are won or lost on a couple plays. You don’t have to have everything going perfect leading into the playoffs. We had that 2 years ago and how did that end up? Our last SB win was with a marginal Ravens’ defense. The year before that, they were #1 on D. Too much is made of injuries, all teams have them and the talent in the NFL is so close between players. So many players have made a name for themselves after someone got injured.
