The Philadelphia Eagles own the Indianapolis Colts’ first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

That became assured on Saturday night, when Carson Wentz played all 52 snaps for the Colts’ offense. It is now certain that Wentz will play more than 75 percent of the Colts’ offensive snaps on the season, which is the threshold he needed to hit for the Eagles to get the Colts’ first-round pick.

Wentz has now played 906 of the Colts’ 928 snaps this season, or 97.6 percent. Even if something unforeseen were to happen and Wentz missed the final three games of the season, Wentz would finish with around 80 percent of the Colts’ total offensive snaps on the year.

The Eagles now have three first-round picks in 2022: their own, the Colts’ first-round pick and the Dolphins’ first-round pick, which was sent to Philadelphia when Miami traded up to draft Jaylen Waddle this year.

  1. And the 1st round pick was well worth it for the colts. Wentz gas secured himself as the future of the colts whereas Hurts and the eagles are still uncertain about their qb future.

  2. With all these draft picks and Hurts the Eagles will put an end to Brady and Rodgers dominance.

  3. Three 1st rounders doesn’t do much when you use those picks on players like Jalen reagor though

  4. The first round pick will be very late in the round, and besides, half the first round picks end up being busts. Depends on who’s making the pick.

  5. Carson Wentz playing time assures Eagles of receiving Colts’ first-round pick which will be botched by Roseman, as per usual.

    Fixed the title for you

  6. I never thought I’d say this but I think this trade has worked out for both teams at this point… now if the Colts were not a well constructed team with an MVP running back – I do not think Wentz would be their savior and no one would be saying that this trade worked out for them.. but if that were the case they also probably would have benched Wentz to preserve their pick and we wouldnt be having this conversation.
