Kliff Kingsbury “pissed” that Lions “out-coached us and out-played us”

The Lions beat the Cardinals 30-12 today, in what may have been the single most surprising final score of this NFL season. Understandably, Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury was not happy about it.

Kingsbury said Lions coach Dan Campbell and his staff had a better game plan than Kingsbury and his coaches put together, and they know they have work to do.

“Obviously pissed to come out, play like that. That’s not who we want to be or what we want to be. But I’ve got to tip my hat to Detroit. I thought they had a tremendous plan. They out-coached us and out-played us. We got to be better,” Kingsbury said.

The win improved the Lions to 2-11-1, while the Cardinals fell to 10-4. The Lions aren’t going anywhere, and the Cardinals will almost certainly still make the playoffs, but for one day the Lions looked like the better team. And Kingsbury is right to be pissed.

  1. Surprise surprise Kliff got out coached. It’s been 3 years of being out coached. Your fake Kliff. We officially got KLIFF’D again today

  2. No worries. A couple weeks ago Kyler Murray was the favorite to win MVP and the Cards were looking like the best team in the league. Then Murray got hurt, and they’ve been limping a little. They’ll be fine the rest of the way. 10-4 with 3 games left. Not a problem.

A loss to the Lions should give hope (and footage) to any team they meet in the playoffs.

  4. The Lions are improving. You can see it. Rookies making big plays. Vets developing into stars. That INT was bonkers. They are playing hard for all their coaches. Detroit may have finally gotten it right w both the new GM and HC.

  5. Murray has sucked for 2 straight losing games but he’s not in a “slump” because he has a bird on his helmet instead of a star.

  6. The hardcore Lions fans who went to today’s game to bravely cheer on their team fully expecting the Lions to get blown out. They’re fans who support their team in thick and thin. I’m happy they have the wonderful memory of today’s game. The Lions clobbered the Cardinals!
