Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has missed the last three games with a neck injury and he’s going to miss the next three as well.

The Giants placed Jones on injured reserve Monday, which rules him out for the rest of the year. Head coach Joe Judge has said that the team does not believe the injury will have a long-term impact on Jones and the team said the same in a statement announcing the move.

There are other things that could impact his long-term future with the club, however. A change at General Manager is expected and the team has not said anything official regarding a third season for Judge, who fell to 10-20 in his tenure after Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys. Such moves could lead to a new direction at quarterback, but those calls won’t be made for some time.

Jones was 232-of-361 for 2,428 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in his 11 starts this season. He also ran 62 times for 298 yards and two touchdowns.

Mike Glennon has started the last three games, all of which have been Giants losses, but Jake Fromm replaced him on Sunday and could take over as the team’s starter for this Sunday’s game against the Eagles.

  1. For sure they should try Fromm out. Glennon is definitely a known backup at this point and Fromm looked like he had some potential coming out of college.

  2. It’s almost like Dave Gettleman and Jon Gruden share the same brain when drafting in the 1st round.

  3. Very Smart decision. He’s young. You don’t mess around with neck or spinal injuries. Heal him up 100% for next year. Your team isn’t going into the playoffs anyways.

  4. Time to clean house in Giant land. Gentleman has been a bust, Judge hasn’t improved the team, and Jones hasn’t shown he has enough to be a competent starter in the league. Tear it down, back to the drawing board…..again. Mara needs to take a lot heat for this mess his hires to run the team have been bad for a number of years.

  5. Everyone not employed by the Giants thought this was going to happen for the last few weeks. Mara should be happy to know the people he pays to know these things were the last to figure it out.

Then again they will most likely be the ex-coach and ex-gm.

  6. Would suggest the Giants roll with Fromm. He looks like he has some potential. Definitely a better option than Glennon.

Still too early to tell if he’s a bust. Good luck next year and a quick recovery
Does that mean it’s also still to early to determine if Dwayne Haskins is a bust? Same draft.

  8. Currently have picks 5 and 6 in 2022 draft. Combine to move up and get ???? Not a good year for college QBs, but sending those to Seattle for Wilson?

I think you trade one of those picks for more draft capital. NYG has multiple needs. Load up on some extra 2nd and 3rd round picks which are gold in a rebuild.
