Running back Duke Johnson had a big day in Sunday’s win over the Jets and he earned himself a permanent spot on the team’s active roster on Monday.

Johnson had been elevated from the practice squad for the game and posted 22 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns in the 31-24 victory. The Dolphins announced that they signed Johnson at the same time as they officially activated Phillip Lindsay from the COVID-19 reserve list.

Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed join Johnson and Lindsay as backfield options in Miami.

The Dolphins also activated wide receiver Jaylen Waddle from COVID reserve, but they don’t plan on getting Will Fuller back this season. Head coach Brian Flores said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, that Fuller suffered a setback with his fractured finger and is not expected to play again.

Fuller only appeared in two games after signing a one-year deal with the Dolphins this offseason.

Safety Sheldrick Redwine was signed to the active roster, safety Will Parks was waived, and cornerback Justin Coleman went on the COVID-19 reserve list to round out the day’s moves.

  1. Will Fuller is going to be on a 1 year league minimum contract next year. He just can’t stay healthy. He’s a more fragile Desean Jackson, if that is even possible.

  2. Think it’s been proven over the years Johnson is an average NFL RB yet he looked 10x better than Gaskin has at any point over the last 2 seasons. Gives you some insight at just how bad Miami’s RB situation has been of late. Maybe the offensive line isn’t as bad as we thought.

  3. Miami should offer Fuller a 1 year minimum salary deal with incentives only. If he accepts ok, of he doesn’t then find someone else as foolish as Miami was when they gave him 10m
I believe Fuller expected Watson to be the QB in Miami and that is the only reason he signed with Miami. Next year when Carolina gets Watson I would bet Fuller lands there also.
Carolina is probably the only team other then Miami that he would waive the no trade clause for since he played college ball at Clemson.
That is if Miami doesn’t go after him again…. hope they don’t but who knows.

  4. Resign fuller…. hell no. Waddles your 1 Parker is 2, sign or draft a move the chains possession guy
