Aaron Rodgers hopes getting his toe stepped on (again) won’t be a “major setback”

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers felt great before Saturday’s game, with his toe not bothering him enough to require numbing. At halftime, it did. After the 24-22 win over the Browns, he addressed the situation, which included a teammate inadvertently stepping on his toe during the second quarter.

“This was the best I’ve felt in weeks,” Rodgers told reporters. “I did walk-throughs this week. Almost practiced on the Thursday, which was like a Friday. Didn’t get injection before the game. You know, was feeling really good. Then kind of got rolled up there at the end of the first quarter. Kind of got past that. Then got stepped on directly on the toe. And that’s when the pain was pretty intense. Took care of it at halftime and obviously felt better. We’re over six weeks past this now, so we’re hoping that it wasn’t a major setback tonight.”

Rodgers also said that he doesn’t have any other issues; he was asked based on his limping whether he may have also had a hip problem.

The toe will surely be a problem for weeks to come, until he has weeks to let it heal without being crammed into a cleat and then potential crushed or squished or twisted.

    Can he play defense?
    ____________

219 rushing yards given up v. four interceptions and five sacks. Definitely a Jekyll and Hyde day for the defense.

  2. He broke Brett Favre’s record by playing through a broken toe. History will judge that as the most fitting way to get #443.

  3. While the run defense was once again awful I put some blame on the DC Barry defensive calls.when you never call a blitz and stay in the same defense thats failing all game it hurts the team.Rodgers needs his toe just to keep up with the other team.

  4. It will be bad news for his toe if Tampa Bay comes to GB. We all remember what happen when Suh plays in cold weather and can’t feel his feet.

  5. Gotta set up that excuse now for when they lose in the playoffs. He really is a next level genius!

  6. The big Ben of the NFC north. Always limping for attention. In all honesty he did great but that defense is garbage yet again.

  7. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody cry so much over a pinky toe! Better toes, for better people!

  8. The two toughest divisions in football are the NFC West and AFC North. Packers are 8-0 against those teams. Hardest schedule in the NFL and the Packers still have the best record. Missing multiple All Pros. If this team gets it all back, stand by.

Aaron loves to pad his stats. Like yesterday when he was throwing on 1st and goal from inside the 1 yard line. And then again on 2nd down.

Brady did that every day all day. Living in the past, Dude.

  11. All I know is it’s better to be a Packers fan than a miserable Viking or Bears fan! Having to beg to make the playoffs or even have a winning record every year must be tuff! The best thing they have to look forward to is the end of another failure of a season and who might be on the list for coaches and free agents!

  12. Bary is the third example in a row that if YOU DO NOT HAVE DECENT DEFENSIVE PLAYERS, you cant do much. This is the worst secondary in football.

  13. If it wasn’t for two blown non pass interference calls by the refs, the Browns would have won with passing and running game. They totally outplayed the Packers and fact is people forget, this Browns team has four high first round draft picks on defense and a first round running back and QB. They looked better then the Packers and even with four interceptions, almost won.

  14. Maybe Rodgers actually has “covid toe” instead of a fracture. The world will never know…

  15. Best QB in the NFL.

    Best team in the NFL.

    Best franchise in the NFL.

    Best ownership in the NFL.

    So nice.
