Chiefs once again have best odds to win Super Bowl

An eight-game winning streak can change a lot of minds.

For the Chiefs, a stunning turnabout from 3-4 to 11-4 has caused them to return to the top of the stack in the odds to win the Super Bowl. Currently, Kansas City is a +400 (four to one) favorite to win it all. They’re followed in the odds by Packers, at +450.

Next are the Bucs at +650, the Bills and Rams at +800, and the Cowboys at +1000.

The Patriots currently land at +1300, followed by the Colts at +1600 and the Cardinals and Titans at +2000.

The Bengals could be an intriguing value play at +2800, along with the 49ers at +4000. (But not the Chargers at +4000.)

The Chiefs also are the clear favorites to win the AFC crown, at +160, followed by the Bills at +350. The Packers are +200 to win the NFC, with the Bucs at +300.

In any of these wagers, the biggest wildcard continues to be the pandemic. It can, in one fell swoop, wipe out a team’s chances to progress on the playoff tree.

  1. Credit where credit is due. The talking heads wrote them off when they were 4-4. Andy Reid did a good job of sorting it out. The Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC for the third year in a row.

  2. As much as I hate to say this I would never bet against Brady when it comes to winning the Super Bowl.

  3. The team with the least amount of injuries and the most complete roster wins. Would be nice to see all teams at full strength competing against each other but that will never happen.

  4. All that matters is who hoists the Lombardi. 2nd place is first loser. That’s fact in the NFL.
I would not bet on the Chiefs.

If all teams were at full strength for the entire year the Ravens would be the number one seed in the AFC

  6. KC reminds me of BB’s teams with Tommy. The first few weeks of the season could be a little rocky — with a loss or two to a team that should have had no chance. Then before you know it, they were in the hunt for the top seed. Great coaching counts.

As a Ravens fan you probably have that as a tattoo by now I reckon.

The AFC is incredibly weak. Nothing we didn’t already know.
    …………………………………………………………………………………………….
AFC Is 38 & 24 vs NFC this season. So if the AFC is “incredibly weak”, what does that say about the NFC?

  9. Chiefs have a great program. But PM=Next Peyton Manning. Great regular season record-breaker, comes up short in the postseason. Peyton beat Grossman for his 1st Super Bowl, Patrick beat Garoppolo (both do like their commercials)

  10. This league is so predictable every single season. Rodgers will win another MVP award, he’ll look awful again in the playoffs, Brady will repeat for the first time since 2005, and the team representing the AFC will be either the Chiefs or Patriots.

  11. Don’t count out the Pats. Everyone hating on Mac Jones if you watched New Orleans play last night you know what the typical rookie QB plays like. Yes he has Belicheck but nobody in that offense truly scares you. Give credit where credit is due Jones is for real. Wait until he actually gets some NFL caliber receivers.

  12. Chiefs are fool’s gold. They won’t even make it to the Superbowl if Tennessee get’s Henry back.

This is hilarious coming from a Cardinals fan. Whens the last time you watched your team win a Superbowl? Also if you compare Peyton Manning who never took 2 steps out of the pocket to Mahomes it shows exactly how much you really know. Mahomes has played in 3 straight AFC championship games and soon to be his 4th, how old was Peyton when he finally won his first ring?

  14. My money is on the Bengals. Burrow continues to play lights out straight to the Super Bowl squaring off against the Bucs. Burrow vs Brady with Burrow pulling off the win and the torch gets passed from Brady to Joe Burrow.

  15. As excited as I am that Reid got it figured out, if you told me the defense would be the unit that carried most of the weight up to this point at the beginning of the season I’d have called you insane. Spags deserves all the credit in the world for doing the 180 he pulled off with that side of the ball.

  16. Pats fan here.. I think right now it is between KC and GB… If Jaire Alexander is back then it would be great

  17. Mahomes…. Allen… Burrow.. this conference is going to be must see TV for awhile.

  18. Rodgers will win another MVP award, he’ll look awful again in the playoffs

His career playoff rating is 100.5 which is 4th all-time, 10 points higher than your idol, and #2 active.

His last 7 games he’s had a 90 QB rating or better, 4 games well over 100.

You have to go all the way back to 2015 to find a below average performance.

If you’re going to take shots, at least be informed.

Bakhtiari and ZaDarius Smith are due back as well.

Although, I’m starting to wonder if they’re all going to be healthy enough to make an impact.

The Packers are notoriously conservative with their players. This is really getting down to the wire.

  20. “His career playoff rating is 100.5 which is 4th all-time, 10 points higher than your idol, and #2 active.” I’ve already told you this several times. It looks like I’m going to have to mention it eight more times. Rodgers has thrown nine touchdowns to eight interceptions in career NFC title games. He has only one win and four losses. That’s all you need to know.

  21. Do you realize that Aaron Rodgers (with his so effective 100.5 QB rating) has won the same amount of NFC Championship games as Trent Dilfer. Yeah, he DEFINITELY should be mentioned in the same breath as the goat.

  22. Patriots fan here and I can honestly say I don’t see anyone in the AFC beating KC in the playoffs this year.

I’ve got a ton of friends out in the KC area and some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They absolutely love thier Chiefs and if NE isn’t going to represent the AFC I’m always pulling for KC!

  23. Chiefs have a great program. But PM=Next Peyton Manning. Great regular season record-breaker, comes up short in the postseason. Peyton beat Grossman for his 1st Super Bowl, Patrick beat Garoppolo (both do like their commercials)

What do the Cardinals have to do with Patrick Mahomes being the next Peyton Manning? I’m pointing out FACTS bud, go ahead and bet the Chiefs, I’m keeping up with trends. Mahomes is a regular season QB

  24. Do you realize that Aaron Rodgers (with his so effective 100.5 QB rating) has won the same amount of NFC Championship games as Trent Dilfer.

Do you realize the Ravens defense and special teams were responsible for more points than Dilfer in his Super Bowl?

  25. “Mahomes is a regular season QB”
    8 playoff games Mahomes is 6-2, has 17-4 td-int ratio, almost 300 ypg, and a 100 rating.

  26. The top 3 teams have the top three QB’s. I don’t think that’s a fluke. That’s also why it’s not wise to evaluate coaches who don’t have elite QB’s. It’s tough to win in a QB league without a QB. I didn’t really think you needed to be Einstein to figure that out, but apparently you do.

A great regular season team. They are the modern day equivalent of Peyton Manning’s Colts

    Manning’s Colts we’re one-and-done 9 times. That doesn’t apply to Mahomes

  29. Based on a lot of the replies, I’m gonna say that many of you haven’t watched a Chiefs game recently. They’re playing lights out in all 3 phases and know what it takes to get to and win the big dance. O line woes from the last Super Bowl are in the rear view mirror. This is the team to beat. Dismiss them at your peril.

The Ravens won in spite of Dilfer. Everyone knows it.

  33. … let’s try this one on for size;

Dilfer beat the Giants. The goat could not……..

  34. The Titans, the Colts or the Patriots will come out of the AFC. The playoffs are about run game, defense, and coaching.

  35. All this talk of the playoff records of Manning & Rodgers.

    It. Is. A. Team. Game.

    ———————–

How often did Rodgers and Peyton score 24+ in back to back playoff games, and how much talents did they need to do it?

BTW, they never scored 24+ in 3 consecutive games. That reason Peyton could win the first SB and Rodgers could win his only SB was that the opponent QB played even worse.

Not to mention That he has played in 3 AFCCG in a row and the last 2 Superbowls. Pretty good for a regular season QB lol

I won’t speak for Manning, but you need to watch Super Bowl XLV again.

Rodgers was on fire. If not for WR drops, taht game would have been completely out of reach.
