Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields has been listed as questionable for the second straight week and the team will start a different quarterback for the second straight week.

Fields is dealing with an ankle injury that kept him from playing in last Sunday’s win over the Seahawks. He was a limited participant in practice all of this week, which is a step up from when he missed the final two practices of last week.

Nick Foles started against the Seahawks because Andy Dalton was also out with a groin injury. Dalton has no injury designation against the Giants this week and head coach Matt Nagy said that he will get the start.

Defensive tackle Akiem Hicks joins Fields in the questionable category. He was activated from the COVID-19 reserve list Friday, but his status is up in the air as he tries to get back into playing form after the layoff.

Tackle Jason Peters (ankle), defensive back Duke Shelley (heel), and defensive tackle Eddie Goldman (finger) are also questionable. Tight end J.P. Holtz (personal) is considered doubtful.

  1. After watching the Bears game last week,I have to wonder why they don’t start Foles instead.

  2. Why? What’s the difference between Dalton and Foles? Why did they even sign Dalton in the first place when they were already stuck paying Foles? Nothing the Bears do makes sense, but it’s been that way for a while.

  3. When Foles and Dalton are on the same team, competing for Trubisky’s old spot, you’ve thoroughly mismanaged your QB situation

  4. Nagy’s setting fire to the building as he leaves. Why is Dalton and not Foles starting if Fields isn’t ready to go?

  5. Now a last 2 game competition between Dalton and Foles to be the Fields back-up next year.
Each day Nagy digs the hole deeper.

  6. Start Fields if he can go. More reps and chemistry with whoever is around next year.

Fields is going to be the leader in the North. Mond? Love? Please…

  7. Of course this is the Bears move.

Give the Giants a better chance of beating you, thus improving the value of the first rounder you traded for Fields.

  8. The difference between foles and dalton is simple. Dalton can run away from pressure and extend plays, foles is a statue, if any pressure gets through its a sack. He cant outrun the slowst person in the nfl. Thats the difference.
