Cowboys linebacker Keanu Neal has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time this season. Neal, who is unvaccinated, will miss a third game while on the COVID-19 reserve list.

This time, he can come back after a five-day quarantine.

He previously tested positive Sept. 25 and missed games against the Eagles and Panthers during a mandatory 10-day quarantine.

Neal has played 13 games with four starts, seeing action on 535 defensive snaps and 106 on special teams. He has 67 tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack.

His absence leaves only Micah Parsons, Leighton Vander Esch and Luke Gifford on the active roster at the position for Dallas. Gifford has played only 16 defensive snaps this season. The Cowboys recently signed Devante Bond to the practice squad.

Cowboys defensive lineman Quinton Bohanna also tested positive for COVID-19 and will not play Sunday, the team announced.

  1. Selfish and unvaxxed.

    But, but, but! “You can’t get it twice, my antibidies are built up.”

    Umm, yes, you can.

  2. How deadly can this be if he caught it twice ? Now he’s only away for 5 days? Wasn’t it 10 the first time?

    Lol seems like the narrative is falling apart

    Good grief. Might want to ask the families of the 846,900 (as of today) Americans who have died from it instead of people on a sports blog.

    Exactly he will be fine too

  5. Reading all the comments and all the thumbs down makes it all the clearer why we are still in the midst of a pandemic, there are too many people who still don’t understand the vaccines are doing their job which is preventing hospitalization and deaths!

  6. Vaccinated = nothing is said
    Unnvaccinated = selfish and ignorant
    Maybe we should rethink who the selfish ones really are..

  7. Unvaxxed players should be terminated for conduct detrimental to the team when they can’t suit up and play because they got the virus.

  8. Was he symptomatic the first time? Is he symptomatic this time? All testing is not always 100% accurate either. Just a thought. No less authority on public health than the CDC this week even said so about both the rapid test and the PCR test. So clearly there can be false positives AND false Negatives. So therefore, every facet of this pandemic response by the NFL can be brought into question.
