Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is likely playing his final game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on Monday night, and Browns pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney doesn’t want to let Roethlisberger finish his tenure with a win.

Clowney said he respects Roethlisberger, and that’s all the more reason to want to win against him.

“Over the years, growing up, I’ve seen a lot of football with Ben Roethlisberger, been a fan of Ben Roethlisberger,” Clowney said. “He ain’t beating us. It’s been a great career, he’s won Super Bowls, which everybody sets out to do, he’s gonna be in the Hall of Fame. . . . I just hope we can send him out the right way, our way. Win and get after him a lot. I’m going out there with that mindset, let’s send him out there the right way, from the Browns’ defense’s side.”

It’s also still possible that the Steelers could win the AFC North and host a playoff team, but if the 7-8 Browns beat the 7-7-1 Steelers on Monday night, that would eliminate the Steelers from playoff contention.

  1. The Steelers path to the playoffs requires the Browns to beat the Bengals in the final game of the season. That’s asking a lot. Bengals need to lose their last two (Kansas City, @Cleveland), Steelers need to win their last two (Cleveland, @Baltimore).
    Steelers 9-7-1, Bengals 9-8, Ravens 9-8, Browns 7-10

Winning the division is not the Steelers only path to the playoffs. If they win their last 2 ( a big IF), they could still get in as a wild card team at 9-7-1 if a few other teams lose or tie. Winning the division is the only way that this would not be Ben’s last game at home.

  3. Fun fact: 15 percent of Ben’s regular season victories are against Cleveland. Here’s hoping his HOF bust features a Browns headband.

  4. Jadeveon Clowney came out of college one of the biggest hyped players in recent memory. He hasn’t come near to living up to the hype. He’s a good player, but he’s far from being a game changing player as everyone thought he would be.
Ben Roethlisberger, on the other hand, has far surpassed what people thought he would do in the NFL.
I’m not a Steelers fan, but I would love to see Big Ben and the Steelers beat the Browns and get to the playoffs so Ben could enjoy that excitement one more time.
Roethlisberger has taken a pounding during his great career, and one can only hope that doesn’t cause him problems down the road. But he’s always been one of the best clutch players in the game. He’s never put up the gaudy stats that other top QB’s have put up, but he’s always been dangerous and delivered many times in the clutch.
So here’s one fan rooting for Big Ben to make Clowney eat his words.

  5. Sad fact: Until Baker Mayfield came along, Big Ben was the most winningest QB at First Energy Stadium.

Glad we are finally competitive against the Steelers. GO BROWNS!

  6. Rapelisberger has been a clown from start to finish in the NFL. From his idiotic helmetless motorcycle accident that knocked out all his teeth, to the Rape allegations, to coming up short in his pursuits of Stormy Daniels, and some Trump leftovers, Ben has shown that big and stupid can make a relative success of itself in the NFL. Let’s hope he goes out the way he deserves to go out

  7. Ok checking off the list about sending off big Ben with a loss so far is Garrett and Clowney, so now let’s have articles from Denzel Ward or Takk McKinley and see if they also share the same feelings! Can’t wait.

  8. Surprised anyone cares wha Clowney one of the Browns pt ( part time ) DE’s who had what two good games as a Brown has to say….yawn .

  9. Clowney shall forever remain as NFL the player of played down to and lived up to his given last name.

  10. As long as he’s been in the NFL Clowney’s best highlight remains a hit from college.

  11. Clowney throws Claypool shoe. Clowney gets 15 yd penalty. Steelers get TD. Thank you Jadaveon.
