49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo picked up another injury in Sunday’s win over the Cowboys.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said at a Monday press conference that Garoppolo sprained his right shoulder in the second quarter of the 23-17 win. Garoppolo did not leave the game and finished 16-of-25 for 172 yards and an interception.

Shanahan said that the sprain is a slight one and that Garoppolo should be able to take part in practice on Wednesday.

Shanahan reiterated that linebacker Fred Warner has a chance to play against the Packers this week after spraining his ankle on Sunday. The team is also hopeful that defensive end Nick Bosa will clear the concussion protocol in time to play.

  1. Really likeable guy but is WAY too limited! His lack of NFL arm strength and deep ball touch is a killer in the playoffs! Impossible to win a Super Bowl with him!

  2. Jimmy G. typically tosses two picks per game. His new shoulder injury will ensure at least three against The Pack!

  3. Wouldn’t it be something if Jimmy couldn’t go and Trey Lance had to start? That would make for some compelling television.

  4. Turns out Jimmy G has been the feel good story of the last month … as keeps getting dinged ending up for those who remember the Monty Python knight … but will still face the onslaught in frigid Green Bay where Mr. Rodgers is gonna have a big say …. n can u imagine the ruckus should Brady n the underling somehow get there by folly or fate to play for the big one … but a tip of the hat to Jimmy Glass as going out on his own terms making a few folks squirm !!
