Rob Gronkowski has retired once, but Tom Brady and a chance to win another title convinced the future Hall of Famer to return in 2020. Now, Brady has kind of, sort of, maybe called it a career, creating uncertainty about Gronkowski’s future.

Would Gronkowski return to play with Josh Allen for a chance to win a Super Bowl with the Bills?

Tim Graham of TheAthletic.com reports the Bills have interest in signing Gronkowski if he wants to keep playing. Gronkowski, who is scheduled to become a free agent later this month, is an Amherst, New York, native.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians said last week that Gronkowski has been a regular at the team’s training facility.

Gronkowski, a four-time Super Bowl champion and four-time All-Pro, will turn 33 in May. But he caught 55 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns in the regular season and added nine catches for 116 yards and a touchdown in two playoff games last season.

In 143 career games, Gronkowski has 621 catches for 9,286 yards and 92 touchdowns.

The Bills have Dawson Knox at the position. Knox had a breakout season with 49 receptions for 587 yards and nine touchdowns in the regular season and added seven catches for 98 yards and two scores in Buffalo’s two playoff games.

  1. OMG. If the Bills win the Superbowl with Gronk on his home town’s team. I may never sober up.

  2. Gronk is a business man..If the Bills give him the best deal he’ll go..if not he won’t

  3. Bengals have the best shot. He already said if it’s not Brady he want Burrow.

  4. His blocking ability alone will help their run game, which needs to get better.

  5. Hey Gronk – not even Brady led 3 teams to win the Super Bowl – doing it for the home team? – That’s not a gold jacket, that’s a gold-encrusted jacket – with street names, parades, and a lifetime of free beer and filets….and fish fries and Barbill wings if you want….all here for the taking…

  6. Doesn’t make much sense for Gronk. He may be from near there, but his family lives a couple of hours south of Tampa now.

  7. Bills are already a betting favorite for the 2023 Super Bowl, having Gronk sure would not hurt.

  8. He can’t play a full season anymore, especially in the cold weather. If they sign him, they better be prepared to use him very little until the end of the season and Play-offs…. that could work but it would be expensive

  9. Gronk would be a great add not just catching but run blocking. That would be good for Singletary and Allen and make the Bills offense really tough to defend. But I don’t think he will go there he already said he enjoys the warm climate and Buffalo is um… not.

  10. This is nothing new, the Bills have been after Gronk ever since he retired originally. He upgrades the run game more than anything, but the two TE set of Knox and Gronk will be a tough one for a defence to solve. TBH, based on his recent interviews, I don’t believe he is that motivated to play for his hometown at this point, but who knows where his head is at. I am sure they will sell a lot of Gronkowski Bills jersey in WNY if he signs on.

  11. He’d be a good addition. Aside from Knox, most of the Bills receivers are more finesse. He’d bring some needed physicality and blocking, and be a great red zone target.

  12. Bills are delusional. Gronk has already said if Brady is retired he would only come back to play with Joe Burrow.

    Joe Burrow > Josh Allen
