Free agent center Will Clapp has signed with the Chargers.

Clapp has played his entire four-year career with the Saints. He played in nine games last season with three starts.

The Chargers had been in the market for a backup center. Prior to signing Clapp, the only center on their roster was Corey Linsley, who is coming off a Pro Bowl season. Clapp can also play guard.

The 26-year-old Clapp, a New Orleans native, was a 2018 seventh-round pick of the Saints after playing in college at LSU.

  1. Sure wish saints would have kept him. They will likely wind up missing him sorely thru the course of the season. He has filled in well at several positions. I can understand his desire to make the move though, despite saints being his home town team. Every season he has been on a roller-coaster with continuously being cut, put on practice squad, brought up to starter or backup, all as needed to adjust roster numbers and needs all season, every season. Best of luck and success to you Will, you have earned it.

  2. Real curious why the Panthers did not jump all over this guy with the way they need help on the offensive line, besides they play against the Saints (twice a year) so they get a first hand look.

  3. OLine depth? Love to see it. Especially if he can play on the right side. Chargers have no hope if they can’t keep Herbert protected.
