Running back Sony Michel had free agent visits to the Dolphins and the Saints post-draft. He is signing with the Dolphins, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.

Michel joins a crowded running backs rooms that includes Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed.

The Patriots made Michel the 31st overall choice in 2018, and he spent three seasons in New England before the team traded him to the Rams.

Michel, 27, played all 17 games with seven starts for the Super Bowl champions. He had 208 carries for 845 yards and four touchdowns while catching 21 passes for 128 yards and a score.

In four playoff games, he had 29 touches for 72 yards.

Michel has 3,137 career rushing yards, 386 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.

  1. 2 rings in his first 4 years, not too shabby, he is a solid, not spectacular back, but you need guys like that

    Beware of Belichick’s castoffs

Everyone knows Belichek can’t draft but thanks for the warning.

As if Miami wasn’t go to sweep New England again anyway.

  3. Everyone in the AFCE stacking up. Bills became the strongest, the Pats weren’t dead after all, and now Miami and even the Jets are fattening themselves up.

  4. I guess 2 rings is enough for him…. Just looking to pad his bank account apparently

  5. Fins will take 2nd place in AFCE, this will help them push past the bottom feeders.

  6. Great pickup for Miami. I was disappointed that the Rams didn’t try to keep him, but this is the kind of sacrifice that has to be made on a roster filled with big name stars. His ability to gain yards between the tackles made the Rams offense more effective. He’s also good at pass blocking.

  7. The Fins addressed one of their glaring weaknesses via FA this off-season. The best way to playing good offense is establishing the run. They added multiple backs who can do different things. This is great news for Tua. A good running game not only opens up the passing game but it chews clock. I don’t care too much for throwing it around the yard. Efficiency is what wins games consistently. Phins up!

  8. Solid 1st round pick running back going into his 5th year. I only hope I like him in a Dolphins uniform as much as I hated him in a Patriots uniform.
