Roger Goodell says he’s “not aware of” other owners trying to force Dan Snyder out

Despite persistent talk that other owners would like to force Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder out of the NFL, Commissioner Roger Goodell says he hasn’t heard anything about it.

Asked at today’s league meeting whether it’s true that some owners are counting votes to see if they could get the necessary three-fourths majority to force a sale of the Commanders, Goodell said he hasn’t been told that.

“I’m not aware of that at all,” Goodell said.

Snyder’s team has been and continues to be the subject of multiple investigations, allegations and accusations of various forms of improper conduct, and the cumulative effect of it all appears to be that at least some of his fellow owners want to get rid of him.

Goodell, however, said he wants the investigations to be concluded before coming to any conclusions.

“Let’s wait and get the facts,” Goodell said.

Some owners appear to think the facts already in evidence are enough to push Snyder out. Goodell isn’t there. At least not yet.

  1. Hilarious.

Goodell saying “let’s wait and get the facts”.

    Absolutely priceless.

  2. This is simple.
Goodell had a power play made against him and Snyder was among those holding torches and pitch forks hoping to oust the commissioner. He’s also been the squeakiest wheel and owner who has brought the most bad PR to the league and THAT along with money is a metric they TRULY care about.
It is not In Goodells own best interest to say oh yeah Snyder IS on fire you’re right. We may put him out and kick him out. He has no reason to do anything but met the man dangle. IMO

  3. There are no other owners trying to force Snyder out for several reasons. The first one is, because they wouldn’t want that to happen to them, and the next reason is because there’s zero legal grounds to force him out. If the story about alleged financial improprieties were even remotely true they’d then have some kind of legal grounds to try and force him to sell, but since there’s absolutely NO CREDIBLE EVIDENCE he shorted anyone, or cooked the books, once again it’s all just noise being put out there by those with an agenda. Just because you don’t like the guy doesn’t mean he can’t be an NFL owner. I’ve said it before he should move the team to a city that wants an NFL franchise, because Washington D.C doesn’t appreciate them at all

  4. Maybe I was asleep during civics class but what law can compel a private citizen to sell their assets?

  5. Civics isn’t a class on the law, but focuses on the theory, politics, and the practical aspects of citizenship. So yes, you were most definitely asleep.

  6. Goodell lied about Kroenke preparing to move the Rams to LA. How can anyone believe anything that he says?

  7. There’s never been any meetings with other owners wanting Snyder out. There’s much more fake news out there then legit news, and it’s not even close.

    Yeah…you were asleep…..ask Donald Sterling

  9. All this legitimate drama over Snyder and Deshaun makes the Rodgers vaccination hysteria seem even more comical than it was in real time.

  10. Long before a vote is taken, Jerry Jones will sit down with Snyder and explain the facts of life according to the NFL. (This assumes that there is proof of criminal activity by Snyder. Nothing Snyder does or did would surprise me, but proving it is another matter.) Jerry will tell Snyder that according to the NFL By-laws the owners have the power to vote him out and, if he disputes this (the chance of him not wanting to do so is nil), he will lose. Not only will he lose, but the By-laws probably also require arbitration of all owner disputes, so Snyder will not be able to tie up the NFL in a long legal case. Therefore, it would be better for all concerned if Snyder sold. By better, I mean Snyder will get a better price if he appears to be a willing seller as opposed to someone walking the blank NFL-style.

  11. I do not think he skimmed ticket revenue from other owners, but if he did, that would be enough. Its not personal, its business.

  12. Some old politically incorrect email from the past will be leaked soon, will it be from a coach, player, owner or maybe Goodell?

    It’s called a shareholders’ agreement

  14. Goodell probably isn’t aware of “other owners” counting because he is the one counting the votes and trying to force Snyder out himself… Washington fans deserve better than their disaster of an NFL organization they have. The Gruden email leaks from this investigation were a warning shot to those who won’t fall in line.

Word has it, Goodell has Snyder on double secret probation,

you know what Snyder has to do ? toga party.

  16. If he hasn’t been aware of the story that’s been going around, which of course he is, then he is incompetent. He is lying, of course, it’a just what he does, yet people still want to believe the BS about Deflate-gate and the many other lies he has told.
