Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier was expecting big things from Tyreek Hill, which is why he traded five draft picks for him and signed him to a four-year, $120 million contract extension. But at Organized Team Activities, Hill is exceeding the already very high expectations in Miami.

Grier said Hill has transformed the Dolphins’ offense and made breathtaking plays in every practice since he arrived.

“He does something on the field every day that has you shaking your head,” Grier said on Sirius XM NFL Radio, via the Miami Herald. “Everyone knows the speed and what he does. A phenomenal athlete. Multiple people in Kansas City told me just wait until you watch him in practice and watch the things he does. That’s what gets you excited. His love and passion for how he plays, it’s really impressive watching him work. That has been a catalyst. Jaylen Waddle already has been a very good practice player for us. And Cedrick Wilson Jr. [too]. The whole group being around with [Hill’s] energy, work ethic has elevated the expectations. It seeps through to all facets of the team.”

Hill will have to be at least as good in Miami as he was in Kansas City to justify the resources the Dolphins expended to acquire him. Grier sounds optimistic that’s going to happen.

  1. Hill is very fast – until he isn’t. DBs will pin-ball him if he loses half a step from a nagging injury.

  2. Dolphins didn’t give up that much to get Hill, considering what they gave up to get Waddle.

14 teams on our schedule don’t have the corners to hang with this offense.

  3. Now if the Dolphins can only find a QB who can throw more than 10-15 yard slant patterns.

I can promise you Tyreek Hill won’t change that offense enough to get even close to 14 wins.

  5. Now if the Dolphins can only find a QB who can throw more than 10-15 yard slant patterns.

You will see a much different TUA this year. 4k yards with 30+ TDS

  6. Tua has not made it through a full season without getting hurt in college or pro. He is too delicate for the NFL game. It will be Teddy to Hill or Waddle for most of the season.

  7. Hill was special but had one of the top QB’s in the league, the top TE who has to be accounted for and a top 5 offensive line that provided time for everything to work. Will be interesting to see how he is without all of the above…

  8. If Tua is going to be the guy in Miami, this is as good of a scenario as it gets for him to take advantage of.

  9. Hill will always flash his talent, but his production will be considerably less without Mahomes throwing him the ball.

  10. Hill is HOF talent. There’s no question the dude is worth whatever you can afford to pay him.

The question is, will he have a QB that can take advantage of it.

  11. Have any of you actually watched T. Hill play? You all make it sound like all he caught was deep bombs for KC. Wrong. Most of his catches were on short slants with a lot of YAC involved. That much won’t change. He’s going to do just fine with Tua.
