J.C. Jackson set to miss 2-4 weeks after ankle surgery

Cornerback J.C. Jackson was one of the biggest additions to the Chargers defense this offseason, but he may not be part of the lineup to open the regular season.

The Chargers announced today that Jackson had ankle surgery. He is expected to miss between two and four weeks with the injury.

If it is the longer end of that window, Jackson will likely miss at least two games. The Chargers will host the Raiders to open the season in less than three weeks and then have a quick turnaround to go to Arrowhead Stadium for a Thursday night game against the Chiefs.

The Chargers would love to have Jackson on hand as they try to slow down Patrick Mahomes and company, but the long view make push his debut further into the season.

  1. 4th place finish within the division.. incoming 7-10 season. You heard it here First Ladies.

  2. Bosa is next and Mack will follow at some point. The Chargers are the offseason Dream Team.

  3. Belichick is just incredible at it. Unreal.

Watch Jack Jones, Marcus and Jon Jones look just fine in NE’s secondary. Forget Jackson, it’s the Jones Boys!

  4. TB6 – BB is now a foot specialist and can foresee injuries? Incredible indeed. Maybe your secondary is improved hard to tell since they didn’t stop anyone at the end of last season. Nowhere to go but up !!!

Derwin James injury report in 3.. 2.. 1..

“Reports coming out of San Diego that the Chargers have encased Derwin James in a hermetically sealed eco-bubble until the first game of the season…”

    Beware of Belichick’s castoffs

Do come up with some new material.

  7. Heal up quickly JC! Pat’s need that playing time up to maximize the compensatory draft pick!

  8. Belichick is unreal….. they got smoked by the Raiders so bad today they had to get the fire department on scene to contain it. Keep dreaming.

Where did I say he was a foot specialist?

He doesn’t overpay and he is good at walking away from a bloated market where the player looks better on a rookie deal in NE than after it.

    Get some reading comprehension, please.

  10. He will miss minimum 4-6 games. If the Bolts rush him back from ankle surgery he could miss the year. ANKLE SURGERY. Dude better get an outside doctor to do whats best.

Last year you claimed he was the top CB in the NFL

  13. And so it begins…the first in a series of events that will lead to another disastrous Chargers season.

Umm, no I didn’t. If anything I said he is a product of BB finding udfa gems he coaches up. Butler, Jon Jones, JC Jackson. The list is endless. He is an outsanding ballhawk but not worth 17 million per.

There are numerous top flighr CBs in the league without one being “the best”, so I never said that. I do laugh at how Pats player are really good while in NE, no one says a word, then when the player leaves, the “BB can’t draft” tries to spin that stupidity. So, congratulations looking like a fool again. Agent Orange and Mr. Gisellle fall right line with your lying.

Good luck with your comprehension skills in the future aa well. Lying, bad comprehension, etc. Yikes!

A player who is good in NE is not as good elsewhere unless your name is Brady. That’s the point.

It’s just a fact that has played out for, oh, I don’t know. TWENTY YEARS.

    lol

  16. I do laugh at how Pats player are really good while in NE, no one says a word, then when the player leaves, the “BB can’t draft” tries to spin that stupidity

Nobody said BB can’t draft. They said he stinks at drafting in the early rounds. There is a difference. Perhaps it would be better if BB traded out of all his 1st and 2nd round picks and stick to choosing players in later rounds. He would get more players that way and whiff less

  17. Somehow, Belichick the GM and Head Coach, oversaw 20 of 21 years with double digit wins, and 19 trips to the playoffs (1 of the 2 misses going 11-5 with a back up QB that didn’t start in college and missed the playoffs due to a tiebreaker).

Not bad for a guy that “whiffs”.

  18. Luck or not, this guy Belichiek is absolutely on fire with his personnel decisions the last couple years. How many teams go from having legendary quarterbacks to rookies and go back to the playoffs two years later? It took Green Bay developing Rodgers and then his second year too get back after Brett. BB offered this guy a contract, he turned it down and now he’s a ball hawking corner that needs ankle surgery. Crazy

  19. I can’t wait to hear the excuses from Pats fans, when they end up 8-9. And yes, certain fans DID say Jackson was the best CB in the NFL last yr.

  20. “…A player who is good in NE is not as good elsewhere unless your name is Brady. That’s the point…”.

or Richard Seymour or Chandler Jones…
