Brandon Beane on Odell Beckham Jr.: Show me a talented player I’m not checking in on

Von Miller was teammates with Odell Beckham Jr. after they both joined the Rams during the 2021 season and he would like to team up with the wideout again in Buffalo.

Miller has not been shy about pitching his former teammate and current free agent on coming to the AFC East club and being part of the offense once his torn ACL has fully healed. Miller’s overtures to Beckham became a topic at a Thursday press conference held by the guy who would actually handle the negotiations of any deal.

General Manager Brandon Beane said that “anything Von says I’m going to respect” because of Miller’s desire to win, but didn’t show his hand beyond saying that he’s always going to keep tabs on talented players who might be available for the team.

“He’s recovering like [Tre’Davious White] from an ACL,” Beane said, via Ajay Cybulski of Syracuse.com. “He’s a talented player. Show me a talented player I’m not checking into. I’m always going to do that and whether that is a trade for someone or letting a guy get healthy. Again, the cap factors into it too.”

The Bills have Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie, Jamison Crowder, Jake Kumerow, and fifth-round pick Khalil Shakir on the 53-man roster at receiver, so wideout is not a desperate need for the team. Should injury or ineffectiveness change that feeling at a moment when Beckham is healthy enough to play, the Bills could emerge as a landing spot.

  1. The Giants plan on working him out after week 1. However, he may not be ready to play yet.

  2. no please no!! he is a cancer on any team, and honestly look at his numbers he’s waashed up and now witha torn acl he will be even slower and less explosive. the only reason he was open in the SB was that kupp was doubled on almost every play, so thye go and make it like beckham was the difference in the SB and without him thye woudnt have won, come on man. insert basically any receiver in his position in the SB and they would have been open. if he was sucha threat they would have schemed a way to take him out of the picture like they did with kupp, but they were not afraid of him and caught a few passes, big deal. he brings more distractions to a team then he does offense at this point. he has been over hyped since that lucky catch, hopefully no teams buy into it this time.

  3. They don’t need him. They have no issues in their passing game or in scoring points. The defense will make the difference for them.

Making smart choices and no desperate ones is what has made the team so successful. Miller, though a questionable investment, at least addressed a need. Beckham doesn’t.

  4. Much like Antonio Brown, why would the Buffalo Bills disrupt their carefully cultivated locker room chemistry and culture bringing in a potential headache like Odell Beckham jr. that can’t stay healthy? Go with what you got…the Bills need to eventually acquire/draft an elite TE for Josh Allen.

  5. I love how Bills fans act like they don’t need another weapon and the combo of just Allen and Diggs will carry them everywhere. Yet to even get to an AFC championship yet. Let’s pump the hype train down until they show they can beat KC

  6. If they are still free agents at this point they are no longer game changers. Maybe they can get Odell and pay him in Bit Coin

  7. They showed they can beat KC last season, as they did. They were neck and neck in one of the best NFL games ever. Bills improved over last season. Stay tuned.

The Bills window has closed. They are a wild card team this year at best.
