Alvin Kamara, Jameis Winston questionable to face Bucs

The Saints have several injury questions at running back heading into Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.

Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram, and Dwayne Washington have all been listed as questionable to play in the NFC South clash this weekend. Kamara went from limited by a rib injury on Wednesday to out of practice on Thursday and reporters at the open portion of Friday’s session didn’t see him on the field.

Ingram is dealing with an ankle injury and Washington has a hamstring injury. All the injuries leave Tony Jones Jr. as the only healthy back on the 53-man roster, but the Saints did sign Latavius Murray to the practice squad this week.

There’s also a question mark next to quarterback Jameis Winston‘s name. Winston got checked out in the sideline medical tent last weekend and is listed as questionable with a back injury, but there has not been much sign of concern about his ability to play on Sunday.

Wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (shoulder) and cornerback Alonte Taylor (hip) were listed as questionable as well. Cornerback Paulson Adebo (ankle) is the only player who has been ruled out.

  1. You had me at “Alvin Kamara, Jameis Winston questionable”, because let’s face it…they both are.

  2. Said it before and I’ll say it again. How is Kamara playing at all. He should be suspended already.

  3. Couple of times have had Brady’s number through the years: NY Giants (of course), Dolphins at times and these NO Saints. I expect it to be a very tough game Sunday regardless of who plays for the Saints.

  4. Both running backs and the qb injured. This is what happens when the offensive line doesn’t block for 3+ quarters of the game.

  5. Dalton is the backup to Winston, and Ingram to Kamara. QB position more important so I’d say a Winston stand down is more significant.

  6. It’s like a continuation of last season. Other teams had a few starters out short term for covid precautions, saints had a multitude out for long term injury reasons. Oh yeah, one 6 game suspension for ped with another 2 game suspension for stupidity.

  7. I’m certain the Bucs would SO MUCH rather face Winston…
Dalton, more accurate and able to read defenses would be a nightmare for the Bucs!

  8. I’m certain the Bucs would SO MUCH rather face Winston..
Dalton, more accurate and can read defenses, will be a nightmare for the Bucs!
