Tom Brady is practicing on Wednesday after all

Tom Brady is practicing today.

That wouldn’t be newsworthy except for the report on Sunday that Brady would take every Wednesday off this season, a report that Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles confirmed on Monday.

The plan had been for Brady to come to the practice facility and attend team meetings, but to give his body a rest rather than work on the practice field. Brady apparently had a change of mind today and wanted to get out there with his teammates, so he’s on the practice field.

Brady may have wanted to get more work in with the younger receivers who will have to get a bigger share of the targets after No. 1 receiver Mike Evans was suspended for Sunday’s game against the Packers.

  1. Poor Tammy had to work on his “off day” because he had to work with the receivers he should have been working with in camp when he took his “unscheduled leave of absence.”

  2. Tom Brady is the unnamed but de facto General Manager And Head Coach of the Bucs; so he practices when he chooses to practice.

  3. Every day is another news story about how Brady pretty much does whatever he wants and Arians / Bowles have no idea. I mean, you can just say that a 23 year veteran who is 45 years old and has done / won it all gets extra perks, and that’s the end of it. I doubt any other player on that team cares.

  4. If Rodgers can’t beat this depleted Tampa squad this weekend, he should just retire. Brady is throwing to guys coming off the street so there is no excuse.

Now he’ll be criticized for this.

He won’t be criticized for working out, he’ll be criticized for again saying X and doing Y.

    Jared Goff > Tom Brady

    ——————-

    Jared Goff < Mark Sanchez

  7. You guys need to find something new to cry about. Brady will keep his team a contender just like he has for 20 years.

  8. Brett Favre didn’t practice on Wednesdays for his last five seasons in Green Bay.

Tom threatens to do it and everybody acts like the world is ending.

  9. Translation: I probably shouldn’t have run down the field screaming for a PI call and getting my teammates involved in a ruckus that led to a suspension that could negatively affect the outcome of our upcoming game against Ayahusca Aaron, and damage my brand, so I better get out there.

  10. Nothing about Tomasina is real these days – all smoke and mirrors and lies and distortions. Retire and unretire. Typical low rent cheater.
