The Saints couldn’t get out of their own way Sunday.

They had three turnovers, one of which was returned for a touchdown, seven penalties, a blocked field goal and a missed field goal. It added to a 22-14 loss for New Orleans.

Both teams now sit 1-2.

Alvin Kamara was stripped of the football by Frankie Luvu in the first half, with Marquis Haynes Sr. running 44 yards to the end zone with the scoop and score.

Henry Anderson blocked a 30-yard Wil Lutz attempt near the end of the second quarter, and Lutz missed a 48-yard try wide right with 7:16 remaining in the third quarter.

The Panthers gained only 293 yards, but it was enough.

  1. Saints NEED to fire Allen, Start Dalton at QB OR play for the #1 pick in the draft for a talent at qb!

  2. Like Millen said before the game, if you say are ready to go and medical staff clears you, you go and any excuses about this or that are irrelevant. Saints have a quality backup, Winston put himself ahead of the team and hung several receivers out to die while he failed to deliver.

  3. Winston needs to sit. Offensive line can’t block. Defense misses too many tackles. Offensive play calling poor. Special teams lousy. Kicking terrible. Too many penalties. Recievers did great except Thomas looking fragile. Defensive secondary played awesome. Saints are in real trouble with no offense.

  4. I’m very happy for the Carolina Panther Fans and the players, especially Baker and McCaffrey.

  5. Winston the INT machine strikes again. At some point people will realize that Winston is only effective when he is a gunslinger taking chances. Unfortunately he doesn’t know when to go for it and when to just give up on specific reciever and go through his progressions. When he is good, he can be very good, but when he is bad, very bad.

  6. A win is a win but that was U G L Y.
CMC has to be getting frustrated with Mayfield. My guess is CMC has a chat and they work on those short screen passes. Just get CMC the ball in the open field, Bake!
