The Bengals used their fresh look to get off to a fast spot against the Dolphins.

The first team to utilize second headgear since the NFL relaxed the rules requiring one per team per season, the Bengals broke out white helmets — and busted out for an opening-drive touchdown against the Dolphins.

A nine-play, 75-yard effort ended with running back Joe Mixon muscling in to the end zone on third and one from the Miami five.

Mixon had four carries for 12 yards. Quarterback Joe Burrow completed four of five passes, for 43 yards. The extra 20 yards came from a pair of penalties, including fifteen yards of field position after tight end Hayden Hurst absorbed a late hit from defensive back Keion Crossen.

  1. Dolphins have nothing left in the tank after their hard fought game in the Sauna Bowl in Miami against the Bills.

  2. The Ugly Uniform Bowl.

The only thing worse might be Tampa, Baltimore or Denver out there. Just brutally ugly.

  3. I thought the white helmets were gonna look good, but they are actually kind of boring with the white unis.

  4. Those white uniforms pop. Loved them, especially the helmets. Thursdays are color rush games. The Bengs nailed it.

  5. It looked like a constant highlight reel when the players not spotlighted are in black and white and the player spotlighted is in color.

  6. I’m a Broncos fan, but just want to say … um.. those uniforms …are….. Awesome! Especially when they panned to the crowd and they’re wearing all the white. It looked like you were watching a really cool black and white movie. Seriously, great alternate uniforms!
