The night got off to an inauspicious start for the Buccaneers when Rachaad White fumbled the opening kickoff. It did not get any better.

The Bucs trailed 7-0 only 46 seconds into Sunday Night Football and trailed by as many as 18 in the first half before losing 41-31.

The Chiefs improved to 3-1, while the Bucs fell to 2-2 and into a first-place tie with the Falcons in the NFC South.

Tampa Bay began the night ranked fourth in yards allowed and first in points allowed. Yet, the Bucs were no match for the Chiefs offense. The Chiefs scored more points in the first half (28) than the Bucs gave up their first three games (27).

Kansas City beat up on Tampa Bay from start to finish, scoring on seven of 10 possessions not counting the one play to end the first half. The Chiefs gained 417 yards, 27 first downs and went 12-of-17 on third down.

Patrick Mahomes‘ fourth-down pass to a wide-open Clyde Edwards-Helaire bounced off the running back’s hands in the first half to stop one drive, and Mahomes threw an interception to Sean Murphy-Bunting with 4:42 remaining. The Chiefs’ only punt came with 52 seconds left.

Mahomes went 23-of-37 for 249 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Edwards-Helaire had 19 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for 2 yards and a touchdown. Travis Kelce had nine receptions for 92 yards.

Chiefs cornerback L'Jarius Sneed had a team-leading nine tackles and the only sack of Tom Brady, which forced a fumble.

The Bucs gained 376 yards, including only three rushing yards on six attempts, but proved their own worst enemy.

Brady completed 39 of 52 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns, and Mike Evans caught eight passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

  1. Game wasn’t close. When KC plays like this, they’re a SB team. Any comment from Shaq Barrett after calling out the chiefs O-line earlier this week?

  2. This is the NFLs Golden Age, with superstars like Mahomes and Allen battling it out, and loser teams like the last place patriots QB-less and irrelevant.

  3. The Chiefs defense only allowed 3 yards rushing…….

It’s like a dream come true after this last four years

I wonder what Shaq thinks of our new Line btw

  4. Bucs won’t win many games when Brady attempts 52 passes. Chiefs likely won’t likely ever lose when they rush for 180+ yards.

You are correct. Look at the Steelers, with Ben gone Tomlin will have his first losing season.

  6. Brady is the best garbage time QB I’ve ever seen. Never fails to score TDs when the game is out of hand and his supporters will swear he was on the comeback trail. No, the other team let you dink and dunk to eat time off the clock.

  7. Mahomes’ step back jumper TD was just another example of why he is the best QB in the NFL!

  8. KC looks like the class of the entire NFL. Mahomes is fun to watch. They seem to have a lot of playmakers.

  9. Bucs defense didnt stop anything at all all night with a showing that bad it goes back to gameplan and coaches.

  10. Quote from above. “This is the NFLs Golden Age, with superstars like Mahomes and Allen battling it out, and loser teams like the last place patriots QB-less and irrelevant.” This guys been waiting 22 years to type this. That’s a quarter of his life. 🙂

  11. Some guy above said “Brady looked Lost”. He was 39-52 for 385 and 3 TD and 0 INT? I guess he lives in alternative facts world. Brady don’t play defence bud.

Bob Kraft wishes his team had a QB that looked so lost

  13. The Chief’s offensive line totally dominated the Buc’s front 7. Total and complete beat down. It seems pretty quiet. I guess Shaq Barrett finally shut his big mouth.

  14. I did not see the Chiefs “dominate” Tampa Bay…yes they made alot of big plays…but Tampa always came right back and moved the ball right down the field…KC was a little better last night…but they certainly did not dominate.

  15. Brady is now 16-7 throwing 50 passes or more. No other QB it any significants has a winning record. I think Danny White was better.

  16. against any other team, the bucs could prob make those mistakes and win. mahomes is just next level.

Brady definitely didn’t look lost. He was still on his game, but he just didn’t have a great defensive performance from his team where he normally ends up getting all of the credit.

  18. TB12’s game plan was to have Bruce Arians come off the sidelines and start a fight with Mahomes, hoping to get him ejected. The NFL kept BA up in the booth, however, proof again of obvious anti-Brady bias by the league.

KC looked pretty dominant to me. That game wasn’t as close as the score indicates. The Chiefs only got stopped when they stopped themselves. They easily could have hung 50 or more on that Bucs D. Gave up the garbage time TD that didn’t matter.

  20. Gotta love the fan club still bringing up their boi Brady on a night that Mahomes totally dominated his team.

The same fans that taunted Colts fans when they would talk up Peyton Manning and his stats after losing to the Patriots… are now doing exactly the same thing.

They were wrong to do that. But Brady’s still better when you combine peak and duration. Most people also look at the wrong stats. Look at the DVOA and DYAR from football outsiders and you’ll see Brady is still the GOAT on stats alone

That’s it in a nutshell … let me guess, this guy’s team hasn’t had a fraction of the success of the Steelers or Pats.

  23. Brady’s “don’t you know who I am” game didn’t work for him this time. Usually the official doesn’t hesitate to throw the flag, but he ignored Brady this time.

  24. Stone-faced Todd Bowles is head coach in name only.

We all know Bruce Arians is still calling all the shots in Tampa. No former head coach is always traveling with the team and putting on a headset on the sidelines just to be a cheerleader.

  25. They were down 2+ scores the entire game, don’t care if Brady came out and threw 600 yards of empty calories, they still lost by 2 scores. The closest the game ever was, was in the first quarter when it was 0-0 and 7-0.

  26. It felt like KC just overlooked the Colts b/c this is the game they were really getting ready for.
