Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a strong outing against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Now he’s received an honor for the performance.

Mahomes has been named the AFC offensive player of the week after he threw for 249 yards with three touchdowns — including his brilliant pass to running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Mahomes also rushed for 34 yards in the contest.

His only mistake was an interception midway through the fourth quarter. But at that point, the game had largely been decided.

Though Mahomes and Kansas City’s offense lost Tyreek Hill during the offseason, the Chiefs still rank No. 2 in points scored and No. 4 in yards through the first four weeks of the season.

The Chiefs will host the Raiders on Monday night in Week Five.

  1. Chiefs and the Bills are destined for another legendary playoff game. This time the Bills will hopefully have Tre White, Von Miller and Jordan Phillips.

As long as KC has Mahomes and KC they should never drop out of the Top 3 teams in the league.

  2. Pat is Special. If you haven’t seen the special / highlight play from the game versus the Bucs, You should check it out.

  3. Prickly Pat remembers every little bad thing people say about him. To be that talented and that driven is something else, I’m glad i was wrong about wanting Watson in the draft. Thank you Pat. Make an old man happy this Monday and tear the hearts out of the team in Vegas.

  4. Lets not jinx this KC fans by dogging great talents like Tyreek Hill, or predicting SB wins. Lets take it one game at a time. Keep on chuggin along Big Red!
