Joe Burrow scored on a quarterback sneak with 1:53 remaining to give the Bengals a 17-16 lead. It was too much time for Lamar Jackson and Justin Tucker.

Jackson drove the Ravens 50 yards in seven plays and Tucker did what Tucker does: He kicked a 43-yard field goal for the win.

Baltimore’s 19-17 victory ends the team’s five-game home losing streak. The Ravens moved to 3-2, while the Bengals fell to 2-3.

Burrow got a push from Mitchell Wilcox to made sure he got over the goal line and then celebrated in the end zone with Gronk-like spike. Evan McPherson‘s PAT was close as it went over the top of the upright but ruled good for a one-point Bengals lead.

The Ravens started at their own 25 after a touchback with 1:57 remaining and three timeouts. Jackson’s 19-yard run was the key play to get the Ravens in Tucker’s range.

The outcome could have been decided earlier in the night.

Baltimore settled for two red zone field goals. John Harbaugh made a tough decision with 9:46 remaining and holding a three-point lead, while facing a fourth-and-one at the Cincinnati 3. The Ravens tried to draw the Bengals offsides before calling on Tucker to kick a 25-yard field goal.

Tucker kicked a 37-yard field goal after the Ravens stalled at the Cincinnati 19 on their first drive.

Twice Jackson overthrew wide-open receivers, and Tylan Wallace and Devin Duvernay both would have scored walk-in touchdowns. Jackson completed 19 of 32 passes for 174 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He rushed for 58 yards on 12 carries.

Mark Andrews caught eight passes for 89 yards and a touchdown.

With 8:03 remaining, the Bengals turned the ball over on downs after going for it on fourth-and-goal at the 2. A shovel pass had no chance.

Burrow was 24-of-35 for 217 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Hayden Hurst caught six passes for 53 yards and a touchdown. Joe Mixon rushed for 78 yards on 14 carries.

  1. One things for sure, if instead of a Jackson or Burrow you have some bum like mac jones, you’re an irrelevant last place team.

  2. Now, can we stop hyping Burrow and the one-hit wonder-could not shutup the whole summer Bengals? They are not sneaking up on anyone this year. Burrow remains sub .500 for his career. Start treating him that way.

  3. What a tough win. Was awesome to see Ronnie Stanley back, and looking good! This team is slowly turning into the beast it was designed into being. Even survived the rare off game from Lamar.

  4. It wasn’t Lamar’s best performance, but I’ll gladly take the gem that the defense turned in. Great game by those metrics.

  5. Great win! Lamar didn’t have his best game, but he led the Ravens down the field on the game-winning drive. Ravens are in first place in the AFCN.

  6. Granted Adam Vinitari kicked a few epic kicks in his career but I honestly think Justin Tucker is the most prolific kicker in NFL history .

  7. HOW MANY LOSES ARE WE GOING TO SEE THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF ZACH TAYLOR!?!? FIRE HIM ALREADY

Meh took his team to a SB. Lamar can’t even get his team to the divisional round

  9. Justin Tucker deserves that guaranteed contract $$$ more than Lamar.

He is the best player at his position in Ravens history

They were a penalty machine last night. If they can clean that up, they won’t allow teams to drive down the field at the end of games for a potential win. We could have held them to 10 points last night without all those penalties.

  11. In a close game there is zero reason to not just take the points and kick the field goal. Or if you’re going to run a play, maybe not the slowest developing shovel pass anyone has ever seen? Zac Taylor cost them this one.

  12. Defense was a nice turnaround for Ravens compared to previous weeks, won them the game for sure.

LaMar was not great, and skeptics (including me) will point to the ‘easy’ throws he misses. Easily should have iced the game with a TD pass in the 4th. Just an inconsistent passer, as he did drop a dime on Andrew’s , very pretty touch.

But as another poster said, down 1, ball in his hand needing to drive the field for a FG attempt, and he did it, congrats

  13. Burrow got as close as he’s gonna get to a Super Bowl ring with his current team – he’s a gamer but still missing too many solid players on the OL.

  14. I know all the teams are all in on analytics, but what about the human element? If your players know that you are always going for it on 4th down and not kicking the FG, where is the sense of urgency on 3rd down?

If the players are upset you are kicking the FG, tell them they had three chances to score a TD.

  15. If Zac Taylor were remotely competent, the Bengals would have scored the go-ahead TD with less than 1:00 left, and we’d be talking about how Harbaugh’s decision to kick the FG (for once) instead of going for it was the wrong one.

Truth is, these are such razor thin margins on all of these decisions, it’s hard for me to see how people get so worked up about it one way or another. Judgment calls all.

  16. But I thought Burrow was supposed to throw for 400 yards and 3 Chase TDs? Haha, paper champions.

  17. As a Bills fan, I don’t understand the obsession with hating Mac Jones, much less on articles that aren’t even about the Patriots

Zac Taylor lost this game for the Bengals.

    ——————-

Yes, he did. What they should have done was take shots at the end zone downfield with the 45- minutes left, knowing Baltimore was getting the ball back.

Instead, they took their sweet time to go up by 1, to allow Balt time to move the ball, milk the clock and kick.

That Cincy coach and their OLine will be the death of that time this year. They’re good, but they’re not that good. They have some big holes. Depth is another issue for them.

Exactly. And the Ravens got it wrong again. You can’t make 4th and inches? You were running the ball quite well.

And what do you get for losing the SB? The same thing as 30 other teams. Burrow can have his participation trophy 🏆.

Lamar has been in the divisional round twice in 4 years.

  22. “Meh took his team to a SB. Lamar can’t even get his team to the divisional round.”

Who is better Lamar Jackson or Joe Flacco?

If playoff wins matter, Flacco will be in the HOF 4 years after he retires.

Tucker’s kick would have been good, even if the goal posts were 6’ apart! Center cut!

    —————————————————————————————

I believe they are saying that it would have been good if the posts were half a yard apart, so 1 1/2″!!!!

The refs gifted you the final TD drive. Oweh was getting held on every play it seemed, and not a flag came out. But they did come out on our defenders, and they were cheap.
