Aaron Rodgers isn’t happy with locker-room talk of potentially losing to the Jets

On Sunday, the Packers lost to one of New York’s teams, thanks in part to the Giants putting the cheese in a place where cheese isn’t designed to go. Next Sunday, the Packers face the other New York team.

And some players were talking in the locker room about the possibility of losing to the Jets. Cornerback Jaire Alexander, for example, said he’s not nervous after losing to the Giants, but that he will be nervous if they lose to the Jets.

He should have been more nervous about how his starting quarterback would respond.

“Frankly, I don’t like all this conversation about losing next week,” Aaron Rodgers told reporters after the 27-22 loss to the giants. “I’m a firm believer in the power of words and manifestation. We’ve got to check ourselves on that, because talking about that is not winning football. There was talk about it in the locker room, and I don’t like. [Jaire’s] my guy, but we don’t need to be talking like that.

“I understand there’s a reality in this game that there’s a win and a loss every single game, but there’s also a reality in life that what you’re putting your energy toward, that’s where your focus is going to go. So I’m not going to address the prospects of losing up here, other than we just lost this game.”

If that’s what Rodgers had to say publicly, it’s hard not to wonder what he said privately to those who dared to put negative energy over the operation.

The end result is that it’s the first time the Packers have been 3-2 under Matt LaFleur. Could they fan to 3-3? Rodgers pointed out that the margin for winning currently is small for the Packers. So, yes, they could end up being swept by both New York teams, and they could end up at .500 with 11 games to play.

  1. LOL!

The Jetsies! The media’s new soup du jour of the week. After next week, it will be someone else (not named NE).

  2. Now I get it. Their recent playoff choke job must have been due to all the bad energy he brought to the team when he was threatening to leave Green Bay and making selfish pandemic decisions. All that bad energy must have caught up to him.

  3. So how’s your present, “I’m a firm believer in the power of words and manifestation” working out for you? You might want to adapt Alexander’s current stance that if “we lose next week to the Jets, something ain’t right”.

  4. Maybe Lafleur needs to clean things up? The Packers played like they were disinterested. Lafleur made it clear he was not in favor of going across the pond for a game. Not a good vibe to send to the team.

    LOL!

    The Jetsies

    ———-

Take a look at the standings. They are ahead of the Pats. What does that say about the Patriots?

  6. So, it isn’t because he is overthrowing receivers and getting passes batted down at the line? It isn’t because they abandon the run the second they got behind? It’s just bad vibes? Man, glad they figured that out so quickly.

  7. Multi-millionaires love to talk about “the power of words and manifestation” because it justifies their wealth a lot more than the truth, which is: “I happen to be very good at a game that happens to be very popular.”

  8. What an awful team leader he has turned out to be. Keep that private and tell your teammates that yourself and not show the dirty laundry only when you’re in front of the cameras, Aaron.

  9. Have you seen the Packers play? They will be lucky to win another game this year. They’re disjointed offensively, can’t stop grandma from running for 100 yards, grandpa from catching for 100 yards.
Giving them a few breaks they will finish out of the playoffs at 9-8 and that’s being generous. I can only imagine what the Bills and Philly will do them in a few weeks.

That from a Packers fan since 1961.

  10. Soup of the day of the week? That’s double digit IQ material lol. Delusional Pat fans trolling the Jets while NE is in last place. You really can’t make this stuff up.

  11. The Packers receiving corps is old, slow, and inexperienced. The only playmaker on offense is Aaron Jones. Not sure why this was the strategy coming into this season but it’s clearly not working. Romeo Doubs is a nice story and should be the number 4 receiver, at best.

  12. Packers have been overrated media darlings for years. Rodgers is a great QB, but lacks a great team around him. Trading Adams was a mistake.

  13. The smell of the Packers downfall is starting to become a stench. They’ll still make the playoffs but once GB cuts Rodgers loose or trades him after 2023 (no way they keep him on the roster in 2024 for $50m) the Packers are in for a long regression. There’s no future HOF waiting on the sidelines so it’s back to the parent’s basement for the Pack.

The Pack has had a great run for a whopping 30 years so kudos to them and their fans. It just seems like you can feel the end is near and Rodgers is speeding the timeline up.

  14. Saleh knows how to attack this offense.

I won’t be surprised if the Jets win big.

    _________

And how do you think that just “happens” to be very good at game that’s very popular.

In most cases it involves a tremendous amount of hard work, immense sacrifice, and yes, positive, forward thinking and intellect.
Even after all of that, it’s still a tremendous step to make it in this league, let alone to go on to be a generational player.

You make it sound like all these guys just get lucky and win a lottery or something. 🤣

  16. You can tell that Aaron is heavily under the influence of his New Age GF. Maybe he’ll burn some sage in the locker room for the Jets game to get rid of the negative energy.

Rodgers is not elevating this team. He has played quite poorly.

  18. You “needed” 50 million after holding your team hostage and making big money for years.
Where did you expect to get money for other good players?

  19. Doesn’t matter what country the game is in, Aaron Rodgers remains the worst supposedly great QB when it comes to 4th Quarter comebacks. When the chips are down, St. Aaron isn’t all that. And, if take away the few Hail Mary’s he thrown (which, let’s face it, are more luck that skill) and the comebacks he’s had against the weaklings of the league (including a comeback against the 0-16 Lions), his record is more pathetic skill.
    Aaron ‘Frontrunner’ Rodgers.

  20. How was this guy MVP the last two years? They’ll probably just give it to him again this year.

  21. And don’t NO ONE wear green socks all week! Any other superstitions being forced on the team?

  22. Maybe explain to your receivers that they need to get yards after catch and no run directly out of bounds and you not throw the ball away when your first read is covered .

    Not exactly accurate Chicken..
If you meant to say All of the receiving corp are EITHER old, slow OR inexperienced, then I would agree. The Rookie Watson run a 4.36 40. So, he’s in the “inexperienced” category.

Speed at WR is not the issue. Enough time with the team and timing with Rodgers is the issue.

  24. Let’s just all detox with some weird methods. The NFC North is garbage and the Packers will win it. Does anyone really think Kirk Cousins will win anything of significance?

  25. “So, yes, they could end up being swept by both New York teams, and they could end up at .500 with 11 games to play”
There is only one New York team (Buffalo Bills). You must of meant to say the 2 New Jersey teams.

  26. I don’t think its a big issue if the players concur “we play like we did in London, we may lose next weeks game”. That is called LOGIC Mr Rodgers not being spoiled defeatist. Not hearing RELAX from him this year are we.
IMO the Jets who just put up 38 points should be the favorite and can carve up the packers pass d which is non existant most of the time.

  27. New chant coming to US Bank whenever The Cheese are in town. Thanks to the Brit fans. love it!

  28. Jets HC Robert Saleh and GB’s Matt LaFleur are best buddies. Matt’s brother Mike LaFleur is the Jets OC. There’s a lot of bragging rights on the line next Sunday.
    Maybe some testosterone too.

  29. You “needed” 50 million after holding your team hostage and making big money for years.
Where did you expect to get money for other good players?

    2026 – $53.4~mil

  30. Dumbo Rodgers, whose great gift in life is that he happens to throw a football as well or better than anyone who has ever lived(except in the playoffs), sees his skills and abilities fading, and hopes to change his job description to Guru. Hopefully as a zap headed guru, he won’t have to face his own limitations in his belief in himself, like he has in the NFL post season.

  31. The Packers, with all their troubles, will not lose to the Jets. The Jets looked good against Miami because Miami is riddled with injuries.

  32. Doesn’t matter what country the game is in, Aaron Rodgers remains the worst supposedly great QB when it comes to 4th Quarter comebacks. When the chips are down, St. Aaron isn’t all that. Aaron ‘Frontrunner’ Rodgers.
    —-
That’s a lot of if’s and buts. Fact is, you don’t have a lot of fourth quarter comebacks when you’re usually winning. But why mention his win/loss percentage when you can pluck an obscure and meaningless stat out of the air like that right? He has 19 comebacks. Star had 18, Favre had 28 and played longer. Rodgers has a better winning percentage than both though.

  33. Yes we know all about how he’s a believer in words over truth. Like when he said he was vaccinated when he wasn’t.

  34. “Trading Adams was a mistake.”

They didn’t trade Adam’s, he left in free agency. So they got nothing in return. That was the mistake. Not trading him as long as they were going to lose him anyway.

  35. You can tell that Aaron is heavily under the influence of his New Age GF.
    ==========

The sooner he splits with Brady, the better.

  36. Packers will not lose to the Jets but the Packers are not exactly world beaters either. All of their games have been close except against the Vikings.

  37. Want to not lose, Aaron? Don’t throw the ball that’s batted down TWICE by the defense when you’re in the red zone for the game winner.

  38. Hes right, people asked LaFleur about the London trip and plans, and he eluded to it being “tough” and the road game after, then Butler talked about it sucking … and they played like they didnt want to be there… people start asking about it, get a answer then ask a teammate about what they said.

No reason to make thing like that a “thing”.

  39. GB GM and HC staked their jobs on the irrational, self-centered Rodgers. They will regret they didn’t let him become someone else’s problem.

The Packers will go nowhere this year or for a few more after this one. Rodgers has lost his ability to lead others, but he still is the queen of NFL divas.

  40. GB GM and HC staked their jobs on the irrational, self-centered Rodgers.
    ==========

    Yep.

Beacuse they are a 5-win team without him.

    And seven with him.

  42. I see a lot of Rodgers bashing here but unless your QB is\was named Brady, Manning (either one), Rothlisberger your QB hasn’t won more SBs than he has in his career.

And a lot of yours never even had the chance to run out on the field to play it.

Jealous is NOT an attractive attitude.
