Week 13 couldn’t have turned out any better for the Bills. Not only did they win, but their biggest rivals in the AFC playoff race, the Chiefs and Dolphins, both lost.

Now the Bills have the top spot in the AFC playoff picture heading into Week 14. Here’s how the race looks:

CURRENTLY IN
1. Bills (9-3) Own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Chiefs.

2. Chiefs (9-3) Losses to Bengals and Bills could hurt in the tiebreakers.

3. Ravens (8-4) Win the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Bengals in the AFC North.

4. Titans (7-5) Easily the best team in the AFC South.

5. Bengals (8-4) Wins the head-to-head tiebreaker with Dolphins.

6. Dolphins (8-4) Next Saturday’s game with the Bills is a must-win for the AFC East.

7. Jets (7-5) Can Mike White lead them to the playoffs?

OUTSIDE LOOKING IN
8. Patriots (6-6) Wins the tiebreaker with the Chargers based on conference record.

9. Chargers (6-6) Brandon Staley may be coaching for his job.

10. Raiders (5-7) Josh McDaniels may be saving his job with the Raiders’ recent run.

11. Browns (5-7) Not in last place thanks to the tiebreaker edge over the Steelers.

12. Steelers (5-7) They’re frisky, but in last place.

13. Colts (4-8-1) Jeff Saturday isn’t getting them to the playoffs.

14. Jaguars (4-8) They’re improved, but still have a lot of improving to do.

NO CHANCE OF GETTING IN
15. Broncos (3-9) Russell Wilson‘s first season in Denver has been a disaster.

16. Texans (1-10-1) Worst team in the NFL.

  1. Thank you, Cincinnati! The Bengals ended the Bills playoff drought w/ that great (and now legendary in Buffalo) Dalton to Boyd TD, and now you’ve helped get us back to the 1 spot w/ a fantastic win over KC.

Looking forward to the Bengals game later this season, and who knows, maybe in the playoffs too. The AFC is looking strong right now.

  2. I thinking that these KC & Fins losses that moved Buffalo into the top spot will change Josh Allen for the better. The three Bills losses to Miami, Jets & Vikes he bore the emotional (& football) responsibility for and that has HAD to have been weighing on him. Hopefully with the Bills back on top – its a weight now off his back, and now he can get back to playing like the Josh Allen we love to watch.

LOL, Pats fans going through the 5 stages of grief..post Brady and cellar dwellers for the next decade..
    Currently, they’re on stage 2, anger….

    +++++++++++++++++++++

Mr. Kraft is 81 now, he will be like Jerry Jones, and definitely wants to see another SB win.

That is bad news for Brady, because Mr. Kraft won’t let Belichichk the garbage to stay till fully exposed.

  5. The Bills can win the division yes, but to get the 1 seed it may not be that easy. They still have to travel to Cincy, and that game could indeed determine the 1 seed.

Bill play Jets at Home, then Fins at home, then road games against bears and cincy, finish season at home against the pats (who could be playing spoiler for several teams)

Will the bills win 11 games? Probably. 12? Very good chance. 13? Eeehhhh… But that all could mean they are a wildcard team in this loaded AFC.

Helluva next 5 weeks ahead of all these teams. So your playoffs on AFC side will be amazing, and dont be surprised if a wildcard team wins the conference, whether it be Buffalo, MIami, Baltimore etc.. all of whom could be wildcard teams. Notice i didnt say chargers at all here, cuz you know, chargers.

  6. Don’t count out the Steelers just yet. We are way better than what our record says. We’ve already beat the bungles. Our defense is finally healthy and Pickett is making huge strides. It’s funny how many people have been jumping on the Steelers bandwagon this week.

  7. I’m sure Josh Allen is saying to his teammates to look what losing one game last season cost the Bills and do they want to go through that again. I sure hope he’s motivating them to try harder to play mistake-free football to win out.

  8. Where have these Bills fans come from?? I thought they were a rumour – a mythical creature from days of yore.

  9. “Don’t count out the Steelers just yet. We are way better than what our record says.”
Unfortunately for the Steelers playoff spots are awarded based on the team’s record.

    “We’ve already beat the bungles.”
That won’t happen again anytime soon.
