We all know the drill by now.

From time to time, a player says something that potentially could get an opponent riled up. The opponent, if asked about it, will say he doesn’t listen to the noise.

And then the opponent will do everything in his power to stick it to the person who popped off.

In a week that featured Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons providing some advance bulletin-board material for next Saturday’s game against the Eagles and quarterback Jalen Hurts, Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander has provided some eleventh-hour chatter for the Rams and quarterback Baker Mayfield on Monday night.

“With the right game plan and preparation, we should get like seven interceptions,” Alexander told reporters on Saturday, via Matt Schneidman of TheAthletic.com.

Seven? Sheesh. Mayfield will know about this. He’ll file it away. And he may, at some point, let Alexander know, “I’ve got your seven right here.”

Then again, Mayfield served up four interceptions the last time he played at Lambeau Field, last Christmas Day for the Browns.

  1. L O L! Always good to hear from the guys on the 5–8 team talking smack. If they get their seven interceptions, that will be more than their win total as we move towards Christmas.

  2. 5 – 8 team ? You talkin about the Packers,…. or the Rams ??
Get a grip,… he was joking around. The Packers stink this year and everyone including Packer fans know it. We don’t need or make excuses.
Plug a few holes for next year and they should be fine. The Packers haven’t had a Sub .500 season in 15 years. How about the Rams ??

  3. Alexander has been writing checks with his mouth all season. But another part of his body has no chance of covering. He is a very overrated CB.

  4. The Packers haven’t had a Sub .500 season in 15 years.

You mean besides 2017 and 2018?

I don’t think they’re going to get a new head coach to bail them out this time.

  5. Mayfield threw 4 INTs last xmas day, sure, but he was held together with duct tape and bubble gum for most of last season, but the Browns wanted to keep him on the field for…reasons.
