The Eagles list quarterback Jalen Hurts as limited in Wednesday’s practice, the third consecutive limited practice he has had. He missed the past two games with his right shoulder injury, and the Eagles lost both games.

Hurts had returned to practice last Thursday but again was inactive on game day.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Hurts took first-team reps in the walkthrough. So, despite Nick Sirianni not revealing anything about Hurts’ availability for Sunday, it appears the quarterback is moving closer to a return.

The Eagles need a win to clinch the NFC East and the No. 1 seed in the conference.

Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew took six sacks and went 18-of-32 for 274 yards with one touchdown and a pick-six in the loss to the Saints.

The Eagles list right tackle Lane Johnson (groin), cornerback Avonte Maddox (toe), cornerback Zech McPhearson (illness) and defensive end Josh Sweat (neck) as non-participants in Wednesday’s practice.

Linebacker Shaun Bradley (wrist) and running back Miles Sanders (knee) were limited.

  1. Wow. The Beagles are going to blow it. The whole season down the crapper in 3 weeks

  2. I don’t get how the defense played terrible and so did the O line because Hurts was out. So this team can’t beat average teams with every other position in tact, then they are not that good.

  3. Maddox & Sweaty J listed as day to day and Ceedy & Quinn’s 21 day window has been activated 💪

The defense gave up a TD on the opening drive and yielded only two FGs the rest of the way, despite being put in bad positions by terrible punting and turnovers. They had 5 sacks and broke a single season sack record in the process of only giving up 13 points. They did it without one of their best pass rushers.

By any standard that’s not terrible.

The o-line misfired because the backup QB’s cadence and timing are a little different than the starter. That’s normal, and not great, but not terrible, either.

While the QB position gets the lions share of media attention, the bigger loss for the Eagles was Lane Johnson. The win-loss differential when he is playing and when he is out is significant. The Eagles are a different team when he is not playing. If he had played last Sunday, Minshew would have felt more secure in the pocket and would have played better.

  6. He better be healed up by playoffs because without the cheese QB run yards Philly is done.

  7. Eagles are GARBAGE and the 49ers will CRUSH them wherever and whenever we play them. Plus philly fans smell like urine.

  8. Too bad he’s not limited from making more moronic commercials. Seems to me that making lame commercials means more to him than football. That fast start sure has gone to his head, thinking he’s way better than he actually is.

  9. all the rules for QB’s are to protect a passer.

Come on Eagles – hurry up and sign this guy to a big money guaranteed contract!

  10. The clock strikes midnight on that Cinderella 9er QB ,if he makes it to Philly .

  11. No right tackle is more important than an MVP level QB. Stop it with this Lane Johnson nonsense.

  12. If the Eagles lose this game, it will be the biggest folderoo in sports since the 1964 Phillies.

Actually you will never have an MVP level QB without a right tackle. Especially one as good as Lane Johnson. Your comment proves you understand nothing about football. The most important thing in football is a top D and O line. 2nd. Hurts is not an MVP level QB. He is a running back who can throw average and without that line he will be no better than Gardner.

And yet neither of the last two first team All-pro right tackles teams are above .500. And Hurts sure throws the ball well for a running. How is he top 5 in every statistically category both by traditional measures and advanced? Get out of here. The Bengals made the superbowl with one of the worst Right tackles in the league. Please educate yourself.

Step 1. Show this post to any NFL QB.
Step 2. Hear gales of laughter as they point out how wrong it is.
