Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson still is not practicing.

After NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported that Jackson’s availability for Sunday’s playoff matchup against Cincinnati was not looking good, the quarterback was not on the field for the day’s practice, according to multiple reporters on the Ravens beat.

Jackson has not practiced since suffering a PCL injury during Baltimore’s Dec. 4 victory over the Broncos.

Head coach John Harbaugh also did not sound all that optimistic when asked about Jackson’s potential availability on Monday. But based on the way the last few weeks have gone, Harbaugh seems unlikely to rule Jackson out this early in the practice week.

Further complicating matters, backup quarterback Tyler Huntley was not throwing during the portion of practice open to media, according to multiple reporters. Huntley has been dealing with tendinitis in his throwing shoulder, which kept him sidelined from last week’s game against the Bengals.

If Huntley can’t play, Anthony Brown would be in line to start. An undrafted rookie out of Oregon, Brown was 19-of-44 passing for 286 yards with a pair of interceptions and a lost fumble last week. He was sacked four times.

Harbaugh is slated to address the media after practice on Wednesday afternoon.

  1. Good thing Lamar has the nice cushy contract to fall back on… NOT! No one said football players are smart

  2. It will make not one bit of difference with Lamar or without him. The Bengals are on a mission!

  3. How does this guy think he deserves the top of the market?
    He’s never healthy!
If I owned a team, there is no way I’d give him anything. Go elsewhere. You may be down for a year or two while you find a replacement but this crap happens every year.

  4. Too bad Roger didn’t do the right thing and have the Bills Bengals 2nd round game in the Jungle. It’s not too late to change the rules.

  5. Anthony Brown, the undrafted rookie QB is going to deflate the Bengals egos on Sunday. And before you thumb this down, ahhh who cares, thumb it down.

    Go Ravens!

I never saw a team with 10 wins look this bad going into the playoffs.”

Oh Idk, how about that 2020 Steelers team that had 12 wins and was total trash, right up to when they got blown out at home in the playoffs by the Brownies

  7. Harbaugh getting his excuse ready: Don’t blame me!!! This crybaby will sucker the Ravens into another contract. We are all tired of watching him throw a tantrum after every officials’ calls.

  8. The problem Baltimore has with Jackson is that his skill set, the positives and the negatives, make him unique. They have built their offense around him and the positive skills he provides. With him not available they are in serious offenseive trouble.
The second side of that is what they do with him contractually. If they move away from him it would take a rebuild of offensive personel.

  9. Without LJ, you only need 18 points to beat the Ravens, and Cincy’s defense can probably give them half of that. So the only question coming out of this is whether the Bengals will rest Burrow for the whole game, or pull him after one series.

  10. Lamar quit on his team. Sad. But you don’t want him back anyway; look at his stats over his last 9 games. Worst starter in the league.

Replacement QB, good luck with that. Lamar will have plenty suitors in the offseason. Jersey sells, butts in seats, nationally televised games and a QB who wins 75% of his games. Lamar’s next contract will be the biggest in NFL history, no doubt about it. Haters gonna be mad like the money is coming out of their pockets, makes no sense.

  12. What Norsey says is true above. When you build an offense for a running back who might throw the ball, you have real weakness when a running back is not behind center. And by continuing to develop that running skill instead of the passing skill, your receivers have no clue how to run routes or to even look for the ball downfield.

  13. Lamar should only be offered a performance based contract, minimal guarantees. It is a all about the money for Lamar.

  14. Forget January football, lamar literally hasn’t played December football since….2020. Another team can have him at this point.

The problem is they don’t have any quality offensive personnel outside of Jackson. Andrews is a good tight end but by no means is a Travis Kelce type. He is a 2nd or 3rd option on most teams. When healthy Dobbins is good but that’s not often. The rest are either backups or would not make any other roster. Jackson is an elite QB who makes it work despite the limitations.

What offense have they built around Lamar? Besides an ALL WORLD TE in Andrews the rest of that offense is PEDESTRIAN AT BEST!!! Lamar is the Engine that makes that team GO!!! Numbers Don’t lie, Lamar wins 75% of his games and without him they are a team drafting top 5 !!!

Now the 49ers are a TEAM built for success!!! If “Mr. Irrelevant” aka Purdy was on the Ravens he would’ve NEVER turned into Mr. Relevant Brock Purdy!

Lamar besides winning a LEAGUE MVP, is now proving his worth from the trainers table. The Ravens should’ve paid him, hitting “reset” sounds like a plausible idea but take it from a Giants fan, Competent QB play is NOT to be Underappreciated or taken lightly………

  17. Strange year for the Ravens. They’ve played the whole year, won some games, made the playoffs, but from the outside it’s like they’re invisible. Never really mattered this year and will be gone in a few days. QB is an instant replay of last year – Jackson is a mixed bag who is good overall and also deeply bad at times and then gets hurt and is gone. But they have no other realistic prospect at the position.

It all sounds like a rut that no amount of money given to Jackson will change.

    He’s not too bright

  19. At this point, if I was with Ravens management, I’d use the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson. If I get lucky, and Jackson actually negotiated a contract with another team (unlikely, as his agent stinks), I would not match it, take the first round picks, and sign a QB like Carr or Garoppalo to a 2-year contract. If no other team took the bait, offer him the minimum required under the tag rules, and if Jackson holds out, sign the best QB still available and apply the savings from not paying him to the following year.

He’s already proven his worth. The Ravens decided not to pay him. He’s obviously worth more than Watson and Murray. Now he’s going to stick it to the Ravens and show them why they should’ve paid up. He’s riding it out. Why play and have a chance the Ravens win something, or that he gets hurt?

Then you would go 5-12 and get fired. If Derek Carr couldn’t be successful with 2 two notch receivers , a pro bowl tight end , and one of the best running backs in the league. The Ravens leader in rushing attempts and top wide receivers are keyan drake and Demarcus Robinson both guys who the Raiders cut. And the niners are so loaded they got better with their 3rd string QB while the Ravens have the worst offense since 2009 with their backup. These facts should tell you something. There is a reason Jackson QBR is better than both of those guys despite much less talent around him.
