The NFL announced procedures for selling tickets to a potential AFC Championship Game in Atlanta on Tuesday morning.

Mercedez-Benz Stadium will host the game if the Chiefs and Bills both win their divisional round games this weekend. The NFL adopted a change in rules for the postseason after the cancelation of the Bills’ game with the Bengals after Bills safety Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest on the field during a Week 17 game.

Because the Chiefs and Bills did not play the same number of games, the league adopted a resolution calling for a neutral site game. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell selected Atlanta as the host city for that game.

Season ticket holders for the Chiefs and Bills who opted in to buying tickets for the game will have a presale to purchase tickets in Atlanta starting at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, January 18. Teams will contact them with information about how to participate.

Any other fans interested in buying tickets can register to participate in a Friday morning sale by clicking here. Any remaining tickets will go on sale Monday, January 23 if there will be a game in Atlanta.

If the AFC Championship Game is not held in Atlanta, any tickets purchased as part of the presales will be refunded in full.

  1. Just curious, since this was a little windfall for whoever got awarded the game in their stadium, how was that choice made?

  2. No need for anyone to buy tickets. Bills are going to loose against Bengals. Championship game will be in KC

  3. Bills barely got by NE and a 3rd string Dolphins team the last 2 weeks.
    They ain’t going to Atlanta!

  4. Atlanta feels like a really weird choice. I know Indy was not available, but Atlanta isn’t convenient for either team, and it takes weather out of the game.
They should have put it in Cincinnati just to really stick it to the Bengals.

  5. The Bills struggled to beat the Dolphins junior varsity team, what makes anyone think they will beat Cincinnati?

  6. Bengals should win, but Rodge won’t let that happen. Bills gifted, yet again, by papa bear. Lady’s and gentleman, let me introduce your Super Bowl Champion Buffalo Ba-ba-Bills. *

I think the Chiefs should focus on their game because it really looks like the Cinci/Buffalo winner is hosting the AFC championship game.

Love the Bills haters of it’s not the refs it’s the league officials. I know it’s just hard to watch the Bills play frankly mediocre all year and still be nearly impossible to beat. Lining up the excuses before the games are even played. Anyways KC worry bout your own backyard and not the excuses for a game you aren’t even making it too.

I think if you watched the Ravens/Bengals game at all Mort, you may want to rethink that..

  10. I love it when the NFL randomly picks teams to play at certain places… Then it all fall into place, just as they happened to proposed. Almost as if it’s rigged…. The question still remains; If KC and Buff are to play at a neutral site, then why isn’t the Cinci/Buff game the same held to the same standard? As easily as Buff could’ve been the 1 seed, Cinci just as easily could’ve been the 2…. Why can’t that question be answered?

  11. I love the comments about the Bills being mediocre, and constantly receiving gifts. The entire Bills fanbase is laughing at you. Nearing the top in almost every single team metric, and highlight reel after highlight reel play in every game….oh snap. They totally are mediocre. Absolutely a bigger fluke than the Vikings. Those idiot analysts all around the league, as well as the entirety of the NFL have obviously been deep in the Bills pockets worse than the Patriots ever were. If it wasn’t for all of that, they’d have won less games than the Texans. For those of you who aren’t morons, I do look forward to Sunday, because Bills Bengals will certainly be a great game between two teams who have proven they are where they are for a reason. Long overdue matchup!

    I’ll answer it for you.
Buffalo was already the 1 seed.
Cincinnati was never the 2 seed.

  13. You can buy Bengals Chiefs championship tickets at Arrowhead as well. Is that disrespectful to the Bills? No, it’s just how tickets are sold in advance for playoff games, year after year. This didn’t dawn on me until after it got a bit of a reaction out of me, I’ll admit it. But that’s by design. Motivation for the Bengals to take it personal, when it’s really not.
