The NFL will be playing five games in Europe next season and we know five of the teams that will be playing in those contests.

The league announced on Thursday that the Bills, Titans, and Jaguars will all be the designated home teams for games in London. The Chiefs and Patriots will carry the same designation for games in Germany.

Buffalo and Tennessee will be playing their games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while the Jags will be at Wembley Stadium. The locations for the Chiefs and Patriots will be announced in the future with Munich and Frankfurt both set to host games in the coming years.

The opponents and dates for those games will also be announced in the future. Those five games will be the only international games during the 2023 season as the NFL will not be going to Mexico City due to renovations at Estadio Azteca.

  1. They should put international games in Toronto and Montreal so we don’t have 9am games on Sunday

  2. I’d like to see the conference championship games played in Europe. That would really help grow the game with great games. The Super Bowl can stay in the US.

  3. Since it’s now the IFL, International Football League, can we get a new commissioner, and maybe some decent refs?

  4. I for one do not like the NFL games being played in Europe. What is the point? What is the point? It’s just not right having to get up on a Sunday morning for a 9:30 AM game. It’s just not right, what is the point?

  5. I can see where this is going. Eventually all teams will have to play a game in Europe during the season. Not a fan of this and have not yet watched a game played there .

  6. Total garbage. I’ve already paid for my tickets. We lose out on a home game. That is a disadvantage too.

  7. The atmosphere around the Munich game was fantastic this season. If the Patriots have to play in Europe in 2023, I’m glad they’re going to Germany.

  8. Fans basically pay for the stadiums in their home towns, and once they’re built and the owners are collecting the profits – the NFL ships their games across the pond. And then of course, the league’s part time officials will have to leave their main jobs a day or two early in order to arrive at their scheduled game sites in order to work their part-time / hobby jobs. Lovely.

  9. One idea is to rebirth NFL Europe. While the XFL operates like a feeder league now, NFL Europe could offer practice squad players a chance to play there. You could have teams in England, Germany, Scandanavia, Spain. The previous league was fun to watch and the sizeable number of NFL followers in Europe could further connect with the American league. It also would keep the American-based teams at home instead of taking a game away from the main fan base.

  10. The season ticket holder gets absolutely porked here. The Pats game better not be a home game again.

Absolutely ridiculous. Pick another team to play overseas for once. This is NE’s 5th time overseas. Krafty Bob strikes again!

Correct. I don’t agree that the NFL wants deposits on season tickets so early in the year. Simply put, the deposits should be due AFTER the draft & Free Agency period. That way fans can see if certain team needs were addressed, and pay or not pay.

  12. And wait until the NFL starts moving games to China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. If lucky, the USA will keep.the pre-season games

    More globalism nonsense. Garbage.

I don’t like the games in Europe but this is just the NFL trying to make money. I don’t think there’s any agenda other than that.

    ???

This will be NE’s 3rd overseas game (4th if you count Mexico as overseas). They haven’t played in Europe in a decade.

Yes the Patriots are the “home team” so they get 8 games in Foxboro instead of 9.

  15. I do not mind games in Germany as they seem more enthusiastic than the Brits. However more games in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal or Calgary would probably be a better answer for the international talent exchange.

  16. The NFL sets the games up so they can build a base to make owners more money. The American fan is no part of this equation

  17. Keep it up. Start a division over there but have 2 AFC and 2 NFC teams in it to keep the numbers aligned. Eliminate the preseason and got to 18 games with extra bye weeks to help with travel. A team could play 2 or 3 games overseas and then get a bye week to readjust. It can be done if done right.

  18. Fans forget that these are basically the 17th game. So these teams will still get the eight home games they’ve always had.

    He’s wrong again? Shocking!!!

  20. To boost the television ratings the Bills have home game against America Team- Dallas Cowboys. I bet football fans will get up for that particular game to see if the Cowboys win orlose at9am

    ___________

In theory it’s not a bad idea but the reality is the original European league couldn’t make enough money to keep it going. It’s also interesting that the London team was the first to relocate because of lack of support. The London games sell out because the UK fanbase want to see the superstars, if after having that you go back to a bunch of practice squad guys it’s not going to end well again.

  22. The reason it is all afc teams is because it’s the afc turn to have 9 home games due to the 17 game schedule.

    All AFC, weird

That’s because all AFC teams get 9 home games in 2023.

  24. Remember I said this. It will be the Eagles-Chiefs in Germany. The Eagles are scheduled to play at KC in both 2023 and 2025. The only reason they play at KC this year is because of the added 17th game. So scheduling the Eagles to play KC in Germany fits the purposes of the extra game.

  25. I remember games being played in Canada. A monumental disaster xD Was surprised to see the Europe games stick, even more surprised to see the Munich game this year absolutely explode.

IIRC those were preseason games until the Bills went there once a season for a time. I don’t think Toronto was as big a Buffalo Bills town during that time as they anticipated. Maybe in the 80’s and 90’s but not lately. Might be different now though since the Bills are great again they would draw well. Other than that put a marquee matchup between two big name teams and they’d draw for sure.

  27. I personally love the early morning games. I’m in bed before Sunday Night football even begins.
