  1. Lions defense has ranked 29th and 32nd the past two seasons. Let’s give the guy a promotion. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine promoted the incompetent mail room clerk because she was terrified of him

  2. Lions young defense was much improved the second half of the season . Glenn is a good coach and ready to be a head coach.

  3. Once they fired the DB coach they were much better. Generated a lot of turnovers. They had three rookies and a lot of inexperience out there. He’s a good candidate.

  4. Nothing will matter until Kyler Murray is gone. Just sayin’. Good luck with the other stuff, but in the meanwhile it just doesn’t matter.

Context matters just a little bit don’t ya think? It’s not like he was coaching the 49ers loaded defense, he was coaching the LIONS REBUILDING DEFENSE, that should of given you a hint of the talent level he was working with when he got there. And that defense drastically improved over the second half of this year.

  6. Glenn is not ready to be a head coach. Payton, Flores, Quinn, Reich, Ryans all better candidates

  7. What a dream job for an aspiring NFL coach. Locked into a top of the market long term guaranteed contract for several years with a an average QB who has an injury history and doesn’t get along with management and teammates.

  8. Bidwell should have watched a playoff game live with AG and had him discuss what he sees and his critique of the strategy and players on the field. Make that the interview.

  9. Not a terrible idea as far as it goes, but a job interview for an NFL head coaching position needs to be much more involved than simply watching a playoff game with a candidate and having him critique it for you. Head coaches have to wear many different hats and become adept at a number of different things to ultimately be successful. Complicated job, there’s a reason even most talented coaches are average or largely fail at the endeavor in the end.
