The Bengals took it as a sign of disrespect that the NFL was selling tickets to a potential neutral site AFC Championship Game between the Bills and Chiefs, and after the Bengals ended those plans by beating the Bills today, Joe Burrow gloated.

“Better send those refunds,” Burrow said on CBS after the game.

The league had already sold more than 50,000 tickets to the potential Bills-Chiefs game in Atlanta, and those tickets will now be refunded. Instead, the Bengals will be at Kansas City in the AFC Championship Game.

“It’s gonna be a fun one. Two of the top guys in the league, two of the top teams in the league,” Burrow said.

Burrow said he and his teammates did what they set out to do today in Buffalo.

“Complete game from everybody, offense, defense, special teams, domination from start to finish. That’s what we expected,” Burrow said. “Job’s not finished, we’ve got another big one next week, on the road. Excited for it.”

  1. Gloating was justified.
They absolutely rolled Buffalo much to the chagrin of the NFL and their desire to devalue homefield for bigger bucks of neutral site.

  2. They took it as extra motivation, not that they needed it. Already had the preseason media darlings in their sites and took it to them in all facets of the game.

  3. The chiefs are beatable. The Bengals are playing well, with a chip on their shoulder, and a great deal of confidence. I’d be very nervous if I were a chiefs’ fan.

  4. The NFL had a tough task on their hands. Namely, what to do with a late-season cancelled game affecting two potential playoff teams. So, they had to have a backup plan. Atlanta was a “just in case” thing.

That said, the situation corrected itself this afternoon.

  5. Can’t say I’m a fan, but credit where it’s due: Joe Burrow led the game all day and still had the best comeback.

  6. That’s karma NFL, no one and I mean no one wants a neutral site playoff game.

Except for the last 2 Superbowl games, that’s EXACTLY what we get.

  7. I had the Bengals going to the Super Bowl. But once Hamlin went down, I thought the Bills would wake up and go all the way…..

Bengals are legit and it isnt just because of Burrow

  8. I don’t really get this one. Don’t be with the sympathy for Hamlin and then crying about what was done. You knew the game got cancelled. They made the best out of a bad situation.

  9. Thats my QB Joe Cool. Love to see them stick it to the NFL and the sorry paper champion Bills! Who DEy to the Super Bowl again!! I was told the Bengals had zero chance to win the game what happened to the Bills? Snow got them mayby LOL

  10. The Bengals will beat the Chiefs again just like in the AFC championship in Kansas City last season. Book it!

  11. It’s amazing to me how easily athletes can take something that has absolutely no meaning, ignore all sense, logic, and rational thought, and turn that something into a deliberate insult that requires vengence.

On the other hand, if you are not accustomed to using sense, logic, and rational thought on a daily basis, it’s probably not that hard. When you are a malignant narcissist, you view the whole world as revolving around you, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Thankfully, we no longer have to hear about coin flips or neutral sites this season.

  12. the play calling was excellent and the execution was consistent considering the weather…. buffalo’s defense was no pushover either…who dey from a who dat

  13. So remember past year when their O-Line was the problem and probably cost them a ring? It seems to be much improved this year, even with some starters hurt.

They play with poise and are very effective.

  14. Hey Joe, way to Stick it to the Bills, Chiefs and Roger Goodell. Light up that cigar. Well deserved.

  15. The Bills magic is now coaching the Giants. Without Daboll, Josh has no answers. Expect more teams to copy the Bengals defensive plan against the Bill’s next year.

  16. Every playoff game tickets are sold ahead of time, or do these players not understand at all how professional sports works?

  17. It’s a shame the weather played a part in the game. The Bills aren’t accustomed to that. The weather wouldn’t be an issue if they played indoors at a neutral site.

I hope that was sarcasm; You realize the Bills have been playing outdoors in Buffalo for over 60 years, right?

  19. The NFL should have stuck to their rules. Changing it up last minute, made you look like fools. GO CINCY! Make them eat their words!

  20. Good for the Bungal players. The NFL looks like fools with all that mustard on their face. Owner Brown should demand to play in Atlanta make a big stink to Godel and his office.

  21. The hate for the Chiefs in all this is just stoopid. They had absolutely no involvement in any of it and were actually going to get screwed themselves.

  22. These are going to be some great games. The Bengals are something special for sure and we all know about Chiefs already. Both of the QB’s in the NFC are balling. Can’t wait, I will be glued to the TV without a doubt.

  23. Bills and Sean McDermott are soft. They will never win a Super Bowl. Book it.

  24. What an amazing turnaround the Bengals have had since going 2-14 in 2019. They did a great job in free agency and drafted some elite talent. When you add a competent coaching staff it all adds up to superbowl contender. The formula looks so easy when it’s done right Good job Cincinnati!

  25. ugh, enough of this complaining. Teams sell tickets to potential future playoff matchups Joey my boy. No one and i mean no one wants to hear about this anymore from the bengals. They are using it as bulletin board material, i get it. but they are being whiny, petulant babies that dont understand anything about ticket sales. Go beat KC and just be quiet.

  26. They put a lot of effort and motivation into this game due to being butt hurt about the neutral site BS. They will be flat as a pancake mentally AND physically in KC this weekend.

15 years of SUCK with the stadium attendance being 60% visiting team, 5 years of luck in the draft, maybe one second contract to one of the rookie stars who were responsible for the brief sucess, rinse and repeat.
