Bills quarterback Josh Allen was on the injury report for most of the second half of the season because of a right elbow injury, but Allen indicated today that the injury won’t be an issue that affects his future.

Allen said that the elbow needs rest and recovery time, but that he and the team’s medical staff do not expect him to need surgery.

Although he had another strong season despite the injury, Allen did say that he felt that the elbow affected his throwing mechanics.

Mostly, however, Allen said he was sick to his stomach that the season came to an end yesterday against the Bengals. He’s looking forward to healing that injured elbow and getting back to work for next season.

  1. Hopefully this doesn’t mean in week 3 next year it just pops because he didn’t get it properly repaired.

  2. Allen needs to focus on executing the offense from the pocket in the future. He plays hero ball on just about every 3rd down and teams are on to it now and it’s not sustainable.

  3. Reminds me of Tanaka who had a partial UCL tear and was able to get platlet injections in the elbow. Hopefully like Tanaka, the issue never gets worse.

Post UCL injury, I saw a slight change in Allen’s mechanics and he never threw the laser beams we are accustomed to. His arm was still better than most, but he lost quite a few MPHs.

  4. I know bills fans love this guy as well they should but is he ever going to be Held accountable? If Dak played like that, he’d be LAMBASTED, questions would swirl around Burrow, people would be calling for Hurts to be replaced, I could go on and on about each QB and the questions that would be asked so why does Allen get a pass? There’s only 1 guy that would get a pass that would deserve it and that guy is Pat Mahomes.

The Bills have as good a roster as there is and they got destroyed in every area, yet the QB gets a pass, I don’t get it. If he can’t get to the SB next season, he’s dangerously close to overrated status

  5. The Bills looked past the Bengals. On saturday watching the Chiefs, the players thought, no mobile Mahomes, no Cheetah and no Arrowhead. What could go wrong? … everything

Some fanbases can’t be objective and honest. They’re homers up in Buffalo. It’s like the Jets or Pittsburgh. They overrate their players a lot.

They just assume that since BB walked from Brady that Allen is the next Brady. A lot of sports towns that just have 1-2 franchises are like this because it’s the main team in town.

New Orleans, Charlotte, etc, are like this, too. The Saints can’t do anything wrong nor can the Panthers, so the fans end up creating this little bubble of homerism.

I’m not sure what you are, or more importantly, are not paying attention to.

He’s getting torn up just fine by people calling him overrated and questioning his regression. And that’s exactly what it is- he has regressed since 2020, in every measurable way.

He had an incredible 2 playoff games last year, and incredible start to this year. About an 8 game stretch of elite play. He has inconsistent, at times seeming very average in the 29 other games over the last two seasons. Go ahead and look it up. The stats are right there.

  8. Allen verging on Tony Romo status one more year he qualifies if no Super Bowl apperance.

Surely I’m not the only one that sees the irony in this. How pats are loaded?
