Aaron Rodgers: It won’t be long before I make my decision, there’s a time limit for all this

Aaron Rodgers has not decided what he’ll be doing for the 2023 season, but he says he’ll decide soon.

Rodgers did a brief interview with former NFL receiver Brandon Marshall on Saturday, and when Marshall asked Rodgers how long we’ll have to wait to learn his plans, Rodgers said he’s conscious of the importance of making a decision soon.

“Well, I think it won’t be long. There’s a time limit for all this,” Rodgers said.

At the moment, the most likely result appears to be a trade to the Jets. Marshall asked Rodgers about his recent meeting with Jets owner Woody Johnson, but Rodgers didn’t say much.

“It’s always interesting meeting important figures in the sport. That’s all I’m giving you. Stay tuned,” Rodgers said.

The football world will continue to stay tuned, and the Packers and Jets will continue to wait, as Rodgers makes up his mind about where and whether he’s playing this year.

  1. He is in a lose lose position. If he retires he’ll be criticized for being a deva. If he goes to the jets he has to play for….. the jets. He won’t be staying in GB. Jets are where QBs careers go to die

  2. He should say he loves green bay and doesnt want to leave… just so the team can cut him loose and he can look as squeaky clean as someone who cant get out of Favre’s shadow can look

  3. He’s either hoping another team comes along or considering retirement instead of going to the Jets. No reason to not have decided yet.

  4. Always creating drama. If you believe anything other than this is a done deal I have a great land deal in Florida for you.

  5. If anyone could walk away from 60 million, it’s Rodgers. He might prefer retirement over playing for the Jets.

  6. Look at meeeeeee. Can’t wait until the NY media gets a hold of this snowflake.

  7. Such an attention seeking diva. If he goes to NY, the media there won’t be so forgiving of his antics. He would have to return to his darkness retreat weekly just to center himself.

  8. Drama King. He feeds off this. He will refuse to be traded because he is STILL bitter about the Love drafting and STILL wants to make the Pack pay for it.

  9. If the Jets excited him he would be there already. He’s trying to force his way to San Fran and the closer we get to free agency the more likely GB will give in and trade him within the NFC

  10. If the guy were a confirmed winner this will he or won’t he behavior might be reasonable. He’s an eleven-year postseason loser who does not show up when an MVP is needed.

  11. What a sad, insecure man. He has to create all this drama to feed his fragile ego. If I was a Packer fan, I’d be thrilled that it looks like they are moving on from him. He’s a great regular season player who has failed immensely in the playoffs. He could have been so much better if he’d cared about winning and improving his play, like Brady and other greats do.

  12. So the answer to the question is there is stiil no answer. Thanks for the update,Aaron.

  13. Aaron Roger’s will not retire the same year that Tom Brady retires because he would then have to share his Hall of Fame celebration with him.period. I don’t know why that hasn’t been talked about.

  14. Rodgers to Jets is a done deal.

Backing out now now won’t endear him to GB fans/players but also will infuriatie JEts fans/players.

You’d think he’d have outgrown his prima donna phase by mid thirties.

  15. He’s a complicated fella.–late, great Ted Thompson, former Packers GM, as quoted by present Packers Pres Mark Murphy, 2021

Aaron loves the drama and the attention.

    ====================================

Apparently so do you because you’re contributing to it, takes one…to know one.

  17. Aaron Rodgers is a great man, people hate on him for the wrong reasons. He stood up during a time of deception and confusion. Most people that hate him fell for the BS our leaders and three letter agencies fed the population.

  18. Maybe SF will swoop in. Rodgers could take this team to SB next season. I doubt Lance will. Then he’ll retire and Lance can take over.

  19. He’s deciding if he really wants to work hard this late in his career. Last year, he showed up as late as he could, didn’t work extra with new receivers, knew the playbook, and barely practiced for half of the season. A new team means starting over. And I’m just not sure he actually likes football enough anymore to put in the extra work. You don’t need to know him to make this conclusion.

  20. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Rodgers has wasted a lot of talent by not working hard. He is solely responsible for the packers not making the playoffs last year by not working with his new receivers early.

  21. Aaron just came out and said he’s leaning towards coming back to Green Bay! I sure hope this is true as there is so much non respect for him. Thank you Aaron for clearing it up!

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

He’s a selfish, privileged liar. Believing conspiracy theories as a first line-of-defense is the cowards way. Putting down leaders, healthcare professionals, science and other such entities is done only so the uneducated don’t have to feel embarrassed.

  23. Imagine being called a drama queen for just trying to live your life while the media reports your every breath.

  24. I don’t think he has a choice at the moment. He will not play for GB, so if he wants to play in 2023 it will be for the Jets. Good point @trollingforjustice, he does not want to share the stage with Brady. It will be fun to watch NY media and Aaron… can’t wait 🙂

  25. Do to Rodgers the same as what he is doing to everyone else. Keep him on the roster for about the first four games in GB as a third string and not on the game roster. Then cut him. He is no longer a pain in GB. He then fits into no one else’s plan. He can then go back into his dark cave.

  26. Please let him stay in Green bay. For years Packer fans not only praised this guy but defended his every jerk action. They deserve him now.

  27. I don’t know who is more desperate for attention. Rodgers or Tom Brady. It’s pathetic
