Jalen Ramsey: I’m just another piece of the puzzle

Jalen Ramsey is set to become a member of the Dolphins in a few days and he made his first comments about the trade sending him to Miami on Sunday afternoon.

Ramsey told Cameron Wolfe of NFL Media that he is “super excited” about coming to Miami because it was “something I was praying about for a long time.” Ramsey said that the Dolphins are getting “one of the biggest competitors ever” and a player who will make defensive teammates like Xavien Howard, Bradley Chubb, and Christian Wilkins even better.

Ramsey also said he’s looking forward to practicing against Tyreek Hill and the rest of the Dolphins offense once the team begins working toward its goal of winning a championship.

“That’s always the goal, to get back to the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl,” Ramsey said. “I’m just another piece of the puzzle. I’m not gonna say that I’m gonna bring all of that there. I’m gonna bring that piece of the puzzle. I got some experience in it. I hope to help those guys visualize it and then we gonna go get it. We gotta put the work in, though.”

It’s going to be a busy week around the NFL and the Dolphins kicked it off with a bang on Sunday.

  1. Wasn’t he the one that said Tyreek was a return guy, not a WR? That should build some great chemistry… I imagine Reek will work him over, as Ramsey is clearly on the downside of his career.

  2. Sure sounds like a guy saying don’t get your hopes up like you’re getting a bigtime player or something. Hey, I’m just another guy. (But paid like a lockdown CB. #AllAboutDaBizniz)

  3. He trashed Allen. Now, he gets to line up across from him twice a year.

Ramsey is already stirring things up in Miami by ending his tweet with LETSGO! Can McDaniels and the Dolphins contain Ramsey? McDaniels, arguably, was given an incredibly difficult task of navigating Tua’s injuries. Now, he is supposed to keep Ramsey inline?

  4. Say what you will about Ramsey, (and you can say a lot) but you can’t accuse him of being a slacker or someone that doesn’t care. He’s very physical, a great tackler for a corner. Coverage skills maybe fallen off but he’s one of those guys that you hate but like if he’s on your team

People said the same thing last year about Hill; he has been a team player, leader in the locker room, and asset to the Miami community. Nothing Ramsey said in his first presser indicates he will be anything but the same.

  6. The AFC East is going to be one of the best divisions in football.

Good pick up for the Phins. They were a tough out in ’22, and they’re sure to be a tough out in ’23. If the Jets do get Rodgers, the division games are going to be epic.

Well, except for the Pats. But it’s about time they had to look up at the other teams from last place.

  7. His comments about Josh Allen were made in 2019 when Allen was doing more to hold the Bills back than to put them over the top. When Allen took the next step on his way to becoming a star, Ramsey gave him his props and acknowledged he was wrong. Let’s keep it real.

  8. I love all the Dolphin hate on here. Every time the ‘Fins make a big move they get trashed. Last year after the Tyreek trade it was “Who’s going to get the ball to him.” This year it’s ‘Ramsey’s no good, or he’s a problem. Keep on hatin’!

  9. Dolphins will still be 7-10 next season at best.
Still no quality QB or o-line.

  10. Ramsey like OBJ: Critical contribution to Super Bowl LVI champion Rams

Wish him nothing but the best

  11. Maybe not the best tandem CB’s in the league but close. Who got better now than Ramsey and Howard?

  12. When they get a QB who knows his own name, then we can talk about SB chances
